does the power fc have any tune on it at all? if it has a stock jdm rom, just put race gas in it and drive it gently. if it doesn't have anything at all, get a rental.

The 207 can handle ~45 of advance but the 257 are mechanically limited to ~30 so no they are not the same.

There has also been no confirmation that the 257 cam gear can trigger the cam sensor on the front of the driver side head that is on the 207.

Thanks for the pic master lukesky, that is not the same as what was been discussed as you know. I'd like to se a picture of the welding job up at the turbo flange that combines a usdm bellmouth with a twin scroll flange. A Franken down pipe if you will, that would be relevant to the conversation. I also had made an extension to use a Jdm length down pipe work with a usdm axleback, much less complicated than up at the turbo flange.

Photobucket is down right now, but I just got my Franken DP back from the welder and installed. I cut the stock V8 DP at the cat and had it welded on to the HKS DP I had laying around. I will post pics later. You can see the start of the job a few posts up(post #6133).

It cost me a total of 40$. Yes $40.

Here you go D-Rodman. Pics of the 40$ twinscroll bellmouth....Uploaded to imageshack.....Its fairly self explanatory how I did this. Cut the stocker at the cat then used a steel slab and clamps as a makeshift jig and cut/marked accordingly. I used the Ej205 DP as a guide. Where I screwed up was having them weld it all the way around instead of just tacking it and checking the results. I had to saw the weld and move the dp to the left a fair amount but they re-welded it for free. The welding isnt show quality but with a heat shield it wont matter. Plus all this is in my 97 OBS that has a green engine bay and dark grey paint job. Function over form.

I spent a 1/12th of the amount tomioka charges. Granted it is not a divorced or SUS, but it serves its purpose. I really need a tune though. Sitting in the driveway and turning the wheel making vroom-vroom noises is getting old.

Why don't all you people "needing" a downpipe solution just buy a high flow cat and bolt it in. The gap is for a cat anyways.

Sure. I'm more of a purchase performance parts kind of guy as opposed to making them myself
