Thanks 96Suby, popped them in, hooked up the battery and fired right up, no more CEL! Good feeling having it done now.

That ECU plug was a pita, until I tried using a good sized needle, that made it much easier, that and pulling the lock clip (oops).

Nice. I think I saw a picture of your car. The red one? Beautiful.

I hit 271whp/287wtq on that dyno with stock downpipe, evo2, walboro, USDM STI ic, and grimmspeed EBCS. I'm picking up a front mount soonish.

Awesome!!! That's a great feeling man. Yea that lock clip is a bit odd. Absolutely great, congratulations.

Yes sir that's her, thank you very much.

That's great numbers for a stock downpipe. Due to the size of my intercooler I'm losing quite a bit of spool, I see full boost around 3800. Mikey said due to the adjustments he was able to make with timing because of the front mount I did see a nice gain from it though. He also said I gained ~200 rpms with the ebcs. Holy torque by the way.

:torque flex:

Yea it feels really good. Mikey stepped out of the car looking puzzled.

"Car pulls hard, but you're making about 5-10whp less than what I normally see for a stage 2 ver8."

"Well, it does have the stock downpipe."

"Wait, stock downpipe? Nevermind you're about 15 above where you should be!"

When I get around to it, the fmic and downpipe will go on. I honestly wouldn't mind a bit of delay in power to 3800-4200. As it is right now, it'll push 19psi at 3300rpm in any gear, and just goes.

Thanks! Bittersweet at the moment, had an axle to fix while I had the car in the garage and having issues getting it out of the hub, so haven't gotten to test drive it yet. Looking like it may be a few days as I need to get a new hub now (20 ton press on the axle won't push it out of the hub...).

Does anyone have a quick rough cold startup idle with the V8s? I have a quick 5sec hiccup(sounds like a miss) every cold start and then runs great/pulls strong after those first 5 secs. Really strange.

When idling or driving?

Mine does this too when driving.

Idle. It only does it on an initial cold start for 5 secs, i.e. if the car has sat for a day or two. Then its perfect. Warm startups are fine. Im cleaning the IACV/replacing the gasket and seeing if that does anything for it. Its very strange though, it feels like its going to stall, and then it idles beautifully.

Weird. Yea if mine sits for a day or two and I start it and drive right away, the first 10 sec or so it feels sluggish. Immediately after that it's perfect.

Alright guys I have completed my v7 ej207 build and have finally began tuning. Everything is going much smoother than I expected besides some avcs issues. I am throwing a p1308 OCV (oil control valve) Solenoid Signal Malfunction code. My avcs solenoids will not advance past 4*. Does this sound like an avcs wiring problem or a problem with the solenoid itself? I need to triple check my wiring again, but the car is across town at a fiends garage at the moment.

Try switching the solenoids.

Nope. They are the same part number. I switched mine out when I was diagnosing my avcs troubles. Takes 10mins if the 'green brackets of death' are already removed.

Oh I hacked those bastards a long time ago. I'll swap the solenoids and report back. Thanks for the suggestion!

You start and then drive right away? Wow, maybe im just paranoid because of how much I just put into this motor, but I usually let it get up to operating temp before i drive it. At the very least I let it warm up for 2 minutes if I need to leave asap.

Not as in

:start:
:vroom:
:drive away:

I usually let it idle a bit before hand but, no, it's absolutely not up to standard operating temp.

F that. I usually start it up, go inside, and sit in the a/c for 5mins then go on my way. And I live in FL. I did the same with my sti, my roommates call me paranoid but I'm not applying any throttle before my idle oil pressure drops to 20psi.

Lol that's me! Turbo timer greatly helps this! Start the car set the timer for 5 minutes, go inside, when the car shuts off time to go! Lol I don't even get in my truck which I use daily and start up and go. My ver8 has had a 3076 24lb 93 octane set up on it now for years.

How much psi? Do you have a turbo inlet, intake and headers? Just curious cause my v7 did a bit better also tuned at efi. Thinking about pushing it even more with bigger intake, injectors, and 23psi
