If you do any type of racing, then I recommend Mobil 1.

If you're driving a turbo'd car, then I would also recommend Mobil 1.

If not, any oil is fine, just change it every 3000 miles.

Default 5W-30

Any API-licensed oil 5W-30. Change every 3k miles for best results.

In very cold (below 20'F) weather use a synthetic for better start-up protection.

In very hot weather (above 100'F) use a synthetic or 15W-40. Especially when driving at high speed for long distances.

I use Mobil 1 5W-30 all the time.

Why is 5w-30 better than 10w-30? Is there a price difference?

If you look at the specs, it's apparent that 5W-30 has lower viscosity (both at low and high temp). Its flash point is usually lower and its pour point is usually lower. In other words, 5W-30 flows better at startup, freezes later and thickens less at low temps. It also thins out more at high temps and during long trips at highway speeds.

Some stores charge different prices for different weights.
