Default Looking at totalled STi, is this anyone's from here?

Looking at this STi as a project. Does anyone here know of this car? 2004 STi black with gold rims. 26k.

http://www.erepairables.com/vehicle_...a_wrx_sti.html

Would you do it if you had the time and knowledge? Emailed about air bags and engine damage.
Thanks.

LMAO^^^^ beat me to it! See...

I honestly wouldn't have posted that at all if I was interested in buying it. I would expect that car to be sold within the next day or so. That thing is worth WAY more than 9k. It appears as tho much of the car is still intact.

The reason I am asking cause a buddy of mine moved on a quick deal like this and found out the motor was knocking. And the tranny was shot. Trying to get some info cause this is such a large board.

If you live near there, have a mechanic check it out. Or try to get as much information as possible.

It has to have some pretty serious powertrain damage, that doesn't look like nearly enough damage to total an STi.

I'd do it in a second if I had the time, knowledge, and didn't give two craps about resale value.

so this is leather??? if you're gona buy it just buy it... you can always sell it after. if you don't buy it asap i'm sure some1 else will jump right on it... esp now since its in a thread

but it does say owner moved exhaust system...... (i'd be alittle worried about that, doesn't look liek theres 1 on there...)

Wouldn't even matter if the motor AND tranny were screwed... the car would still be worth more than 9k... brakes... interior... block. diff... car is well worth it just by looking at the pics.

is that a legit web site? I've never heard of it before. They have some pretty good deals. A lot of the cars don't even look totalled.

Of course that would only matter if you were going to completely part it out. Otherwise it isn't a huge deal with a rebuilt title. Unless you're a body man/mechanic, rebuilding this car and trying to flip it isn't going to be cost effective.

My experience with rural Wisconsin auto salvage yards is that they frequently have really nice imports at great prices. More desirable domestics models are quite another matter, though.

Man they are close.... The only thing I can see is that the post of they guy that had his car wrecked was started on 9/19 and this post started the day before, awfully quick to be totaled and being sold. Check the VIN's. Also checked the other OP's profile... Lists 05 STi.

OP's wrecked car

This OP's car:

I am looking at the car posted on i-club and I think they both have g-forces, but I think the post on i-club happend a very long time ago. I see it says yesterday but I am sure I saw those pics a while ago. or maybe not the damage to the hood is the exact same
