Default ppp3 boost problem

I recently purchased a ppp3 ecu. The guy I got it from told me I could use any uppipe/turboback with it, (he actually asked prodrive it was ok) so I went for it. After installing it, (along with the restrictor) peak boost was at around 1.3 mpa, which is like 19 psi I think, and then it'd go back down to 13 psi, then back up a little, then back down, over and over... it's annoying, and I don't know what's wrong. Help please?

My setup is gpmoto y-hose, txs uppipe, aps bellmouth piece welded onto hks dp, stock midpipe and prodrive round tip axleback.

Also, the car doesn't feel noticeably stronger than before... I MIGHT have an exhaust leak, but I'm not sure. I don't see how it would be a problem though? Also, I had turned the wastegate like once or twice before, but I thought I had turned it back fully. If I hadn't turned it back fully, could it be the source of the boost problem?

General consensus seems to be that Prodrive doesn't permit the mix/match of any components within their PPP kit (based on readings here) so I'd be surprised if they did say that "any uppipe/turboback" would be OK. It seemed that most of the "unhappy" PPP customers were individuals who had mixed/matched parts (or added harware beyond what the base PPP had) Probably worth asking them though to verify at the source as I could very well be wrong.

As to the boost issue, I'd reccomend the standard check for leaks, but you may get things a bit more stable by loosening the WG arm as too much preload can cause initial boost spiking and "hunting" as the ECU tries to control boost to the setpoint.

As above check for leaks, but here are a few more thoughts.
Do you have a 3rd cat? ppp3 does not.
Does your downpipe have a cat? ppp3 has a high flow cat in the pipe.
Is your egt connected? ppp3 just moves the probe to the other side of the turbo.
Is the ecu from the same year car as yours? If not,ask Prodrive if the unit will work with your car.
Is the restrictor the correct one for ppp3?

I loosened the wastegate one more complete turn, and it helped a little, but any more loosening and I'm sure it'll be more loose than stock.

My downpipe does have a (metal cat) high flow cat, although it is placed right before the catback as opposed to the shorty part. The egt is not connected. I just used the resistor fix since there is nowhere to put it in my downpipe. The ecu I know is for either 02 or 03, but I don't know which one. The restrictor is the correct one for ppp3.

I am waiting for a new 3" to 2.5" midpipe to arrive at my house. I'm thinking if there is a leak, it's probably where the dp and midpipe leak since the 3" flat flange and donut flange don't mate up too well. If so, the new midpipe should fix the problem.
