Phil, can you provide more info on these 1000, 1200, and 1600cc injector setups (injector brand/type, fuel rail setup, etc.) ?

I'm thinking about doing something stupid.

I've come across a set of rails that bolt up to USDM STi TGV housings, meant for Bosche top-feed injectors.

I have base maps for RC 1000cc low impedance injectors. I have also tuned 1200cc injectors without issue. I have some customers running 1600cc injectors and claim they work and idle well. All are top feed and low impedance so you will need a top-feed fuel rail. All will need new injector clips and depending on your TGVs may need the nozzle adjusted.

Thanks,
Phil

Will the RC 1000cc low impedance injectors work with perrin top feed fuel rails? I am running the PE800cc's right now but I think they will be maxed out on a GT35R setup. I'm looking into another injector setup for when i get a 2.5 block

I will tell you afte this weekend. IF you do this though, talk to carol at RC, I sent mine in to be "modified" to fit with my perrin rails.. that and they include the necessary spacers. Very helpful.

Dan,

It should with spacers. Also when you order the RC injectors they'll ask you what tops and bottoms you want. If you tell them it's for a WRX they should give you the correct injectors to fit.

Thanks,
Phil

Clips as in to wire in the injectors to the stock harness? They can include them for you.. they're like $40. You should mention to them that you need it.

I had issues with RC 1000ccs also. The body was simply too fat to fit in the TGV and the bottom was too short to make it to the injector port. If you deal with RC they might up you to 1200ccs like they did for me at no cost, they Drop right in and Phil tuned them for me with no issues.. Just a little bit of a PITA as they create massive changes in A/F with small changes on the Hydra..

Edit: RC is a great company, and are VERY helpfull, they worked with me a lot to get things just how I wanted them..

On the STI there is more room for the injector since the TGV port is designed to hold the fuel rail. I know on the WRX the injector port is much smaller as it only holds the injector body.

Thanks,
Phil

RC1000's are running perfect on my car. Only thing I had to do was machine the tgv housing so it would match the injector. Ron@Axis had his machine shop guy do this and it turned out amazing, the injectors fit perfect and I have no doubt they will never leak one bit (my old pe800's were a pain to seat properly) The RC1200's are the same price now but from talking to Phil he said he doesn't have a base map for these injectors and they are not really needed for a 35r setup. He said the RC1000's are plenty.

This thread is discussing exactly what I am trying to figure out as well for my 04 STi. What I thought would be a good approach is to get a hold of a set of 06-up WRX TGV housings, some WRX-style RC1000cc top-feed injectors, and the Perrin top-feed fuel rails. I was thinking this should all bolt up fine to my STi, but it sounds like the WRX TGVs aren't a perfect match for the RC injectors after all. I really wanted for everything to match right up without any thing else being done; but if it comes down to getting the TGVs machines I guess I could deal with that. So am I right in thinking that what I am proposing to do would work if I got the TGV housings machined for the RC injectors? Should I try using a different TGV or something else?

I am using the STI TGV housings with the RC 1000cc injectors. The main problem is that WRX top feed rails need to be modified to work with the STi tgvs. I have also used the Ultimate rails and injectors and they work fine also but the rails are a really, really, tight fit.

I highly recommend sticking with 1000cc injectors as this is what we have base maps for.

Thanks,
Phil

Phil,

I have an 07 STI and are going to put in 1000cc injectors once the HYDRA COMES OUT!!!!!
My question is I have a set of 1000cc injectors and clips from my Acura Integra. I believe they are a bosch style, they do look just like the RC 1000cc.
The 07 STI's now come with TOP FEED injectors. Can I use the injectors that I used in my Acura Inetgra?
IF so, what mods do I have to do to get these to work correctly.

Thanks
Sean

What are you to talking about, we've shipped like 100 2007 STI Hydras

In all seriousness I have a couple coming for testing in the next week or so (that's what I've been told at least )
