Default Just got a job in Denver!...

I just got a job in Denver and will be moving out there in December. Anyone have any recommendations on where to live... or where not to live? I've heard to avoid most of Aurora but havnt really heard much else. I'll be working in the Centeninial/ Aurora area. I'm contemplating getting into one of the high rise places downtown for a little bit. (Thought it sounded like fun)

Thanks,
John

Whatever you do, don't live in the Beauvillon, that place is cheesy.

Get a cool loft downtown.

Centenial and the outer parts of Aurora aren't so bad. If you're going to be working in Centenial I'd look at places in Aurora, Parker, and Centenial. Aurora gets worse the closer you go to Denver. I don't know what kind of commute you are used to but if you don't mind driving a bit you can check out Castle Rock and Monument.

When it comes time to look for a house check out:

Speak with Lew, he's a cool guy and active in the Subie community. He'll probably take you out hunting in his STi if you work with him.

Ohh, and don't forget to checkout www.awdpirates.net

Aurora, Centennial, Parker, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Greenwood Village, etc all equal Tom and Suzy homemaker with their 2.5 children and SUVs.

Its boring. So boring even in HS we called the area Littlefun.

If you want a house look in South/North Denver. You'll be centrally located to everything fun with a not to bad commute to Centennial Airport.

Centennial Airport is just over a mile (ok so maybe its 2) from I-25. Depending on time of day for your commute you could realistically live anywhere south of I-70 have have a commute of as little as 20 minutes (more like 45 minutes in rush hour though).

But that's not to say if you are into the social scene of bars, restraunts, and clubs on a mainly nightly basis that you shouldn't live in LoDo (there are some great developments and complex's opening up in the area).

I would avoid Reunion like the plague and also avoid Stapleton (unless you want to make a 10-20 year long investment).
