Your 60' isnt that great, yet you trap 4mph faster than everyone else.

Yeah i would say the -400 ft density altitude has to make it one of the fasest if not the fastest track in the country.

You are going to honestly say that if you came and ran your car here at LACR you would run the same time and trap? Not possible.

It is awesome for your personality that you get to race there, it just helps you convince yourself that you are the shizzle.

You are correct. My corrected time and mph are 13.4 @ 99 on planet Phatron. If thats not acceptable can you give me the correct formula to translate my times into real times? I would greatly appreciate it.

We talked afterwards and the guy was really cool. Had under $10k invested in his car including both the car AND mods. IIRC he said it made 25x rwhp. I couldnt believe he hooked a mid 1.7 on street tires on a street night.

Totally believable. I think there is a guy on SVT performance or one of those ford sites cutting 1.7s with a Lightning on Eagle F1s.

Weather was pretty cool last night here. Low 60s I guess and the other guy that works late with me drives a 02 Lightning. We went out last night and ran a few times. Stock STi, he has exhaust on the Lightning and from a 45mph roll its really close, I mean door to door close. Once I hit 5th I usually start to pull on him. If I ever have to own a pickup I know what I'll be picking up.

Dont think so.

Vettes really aren't my thing anyway. Call me strange. (I drive an econo box with a big wing and I point and laugh at ricers... go figure!)

And people tell me i suck at driving, but praise v6?

People get too hung up on mods and dont look at the traps. I have a tbe and ap and v6 still traps 1.5 mph faster, but I guess that track and nice weather dont make a difference tho
.
Both the driver and the conditions are a factor.....your results are a combination of both

I feel a davenow post comming on...

How can you honeslty complain?

Your car should be making a solid 30-40hp more (at the same altitude you wussy) Now that said do you honestly think that you lose more than 40hp due to the altitude? If not, how the hell do you explain me devastating your STAGE 2 times with my BONE STOCK car? With a 40hp difference you should imho be running with my times if not faster.

Its not like you ran close to my times, you ran 13.3@102 to my 13.0@104. I could see you bitching if our times matched or you were a tad quicker but its clearly not the case. Not even close. If you put us both at the same track I am confident I could run right with you if not better (bone stock still of course)

That being said I am tired of you putting yourself in the same ballpark as me when it comes to driving and I challenge you to come to NED and race me to end this debate. If not, you sir are a coward.

v6,

yes i too am tired of this. you refuse to look at all the facts. and you are mixing up the tracks.

1) The time you quoted above was from Famoso not LACR. I believe if i ran at Famoso again now that i could hit a 12.9.

2) I never ran my stock STi so we will never know what i would have run.

3) We only have 91 octane here, not only that our gas is somehow super crappy here which caused Cobb to release a Cailfornia 91 octane map.

4) Why the f*ck do racers compute density altitudes and tune their cars accordingly? Why the f*ck does the NHRA have altitude correction factors if it does not matter?

So yes I believe that with my tbe and base map and I am barely making the same power as your stock car due to the gas here and the weather and track. If the power was there i would be trapping higher..end of story.

Finally, I will be in Illinois at the beginning of october 2-5th i think. So come pick me up and ill take your car for a run down the track at NED.

Then I get to feel what my stg 2 should feel like

the altitude and weather are the exact reasons you run what u run and why opposite lock has the wrx stock turbo record (done at Old Bridge Raceway 100 ft elevation) and why Amazake runs 12.9's on the stock wrx turbo (done at NED - 90 ft)

And the same reason Hotrod put himself on the list with his nhra corrected times

13.239 ~= 12.844
102.85 ~= 105.74

Do you refuse to accept the fact that a bad driver will NOT get the same mph out of a car as a good driver will? Well I dont know why I asked cause you clearly you do...

Not for nothing but Amakaze was the first member I met iirc. We met back in August 2001 and I know his story very well. His car flys and its not a freak of nature. Its heavily modded and runs (ran) well. Oh and fwiw I was there when he ran those times.

Let us not forget I ran within 6 tenths (13.5@98mph) of that time with a boost controller an air filter and some race gas ...through the stock exhaust
I feel had I modified that car further I would have been able to get some pretty damn good times out of it.

Its all in the driver. Power is nothing without the propper application.

so a 1.77 60' doesnt mean shiite anymore huh. what 60' do i have to run to be considered a good driver? What time and trap combination? If i go to famoso and run a 13.0@104 mph (same as u) will u think i am a good driver or just say i should be running faster because i have an exhaust?

Phatron you should strip your car back to bone stock, and see how it effects your times.....that would give your arguement a little more validity.....

Or of course you could meet V6 half way across the country for a duel....ha ha
