Default Tire Size for drag on stock 17x7.5 04' STi BBS Wheels

OK, I'm mainly looking for a "size" recommendation for a tire to install on stock 17x7.5 04' STi BBS Wheels, but if you want to throw in some suggestions for tire brand/model, feel free.

Vehicle: 04' Forester XT on STi suspension, currently on stock STi wheels and 225/45/17 Tires (worn).

I drive somewhat agressively on the street, not so much cornering hard, but accelerating hard...and I do go to the drag strip a few times each season. So basically I'm looking for something that will give optimal dry traction for my launch but also need it to have decent wear and all season bad weather traction as well, being that I live in NJ and we can get some pretty sloppy winters.

I had Falken Ziex ZE-512 on my previous 18" wheels and had good success (1.7 sec 60', good all weather), but they wore out pretty quickly.

According to DTD:

OEM: 225/45-17

Plus Zero Options:
205/50-17
215/45-17
215/50-17
235/45-17
245/40-17
245/45-17

These ones look attractive:

Kumho Ecsta AST

Thanks!

I'd take 452s over both of those, but you can't use them in the winter. Do you have another wheel/tire set for the cold months?

No, and I drag race during the winter too, so I need a good all around tire...

Honestly if you don't track or autox your car, any tire will do. You actually want the junkiest tires you can find, so you can break traction on the launch and get a bit of wheel spin.

I drag race often and do NOT want wheel spin on launch, my goal is to dead hook or as close as possible.
Right now, I spin through all of 1st gear, even slipping the clutch because my tires are so beat = 2.0+ short times. Was getting 1.7's on previous tires, i wanna get back there, or better.

I'm basically looking for recommendations on SIZE, i'm pretty sure wider contact patch and taller sidewall would be the way to go, but i'd like confirmation from the experienced drag racers here. I've got almost 15 years experience but this is my first AWD vehicle.
