Question Good place to get flywheels...

Does anyone know of a good and cheap place to get flywheels without ordering them from the US? Driving down into Washington would also be an option...

I'm looking for something lightweight for my '98 Forester (it uses the same flywheel as one of the Imprezas, right?).

Also... what do you guys use instead of the ST crank stopper tool when installing flywheels/clutches?

I have a stock one that you could take to a machine shop and have them lighten it!

I wedge a small block of aluminum between the block and the ring gear to stop any rotation.

Thanks for the offer but I also have a stock flywheel that I want to get rid of .

I'll probably be going down to the states sometime this week to pick up a remanufactured shortblock... maybe I'll be able to find a flywheel as well.

Crawford is a reputable subaru engine builder. From what I have read, they build some pretty stout engines that put out really good power. In your case, unless you have some high hp numbers planned down the road, I don't think it's really necessary.
