what to you is a engine modification, are you asking about cams and internals? or bolt ones with intakes and headers?

Nice, and since I can fit my head in that wheel gap I can admire it from all sides.

correct me if I am wrong, but did you have exhaust sound clips of your car on YouTube? if so, nice notes! oh, and if you still have the Special Edition badge from your car, is it bothering if I ask for it as the US ones never came with any special badging. I seen a Canada-Spec one just last week here in the states and I got jealous because of those seats and "Special Editon" emblem. Also, do you notice a downforce difference with the spoiler?

Hey Clinton.. nope sorry that was not me. Its a prodrive oval tip exhaust and fyi it sounds amazing. Sorry i ruined the special edition badge when debadging the car (by the way its very flimsy and crappy i dont know why you would want it.. it looks cheap and shows thats its just a glorified vinyl). Yea the seats rock though! And far as difference with the spoiler, i would not know i got it installed at the dealership when i bought the car.

How was the DIY lip? was it difficult to install and make?
I wanna cheap out on a front lip. I can't fork out $200 for a front lip
Do you happen to have a link to the DIY lip? I might have to give it at try, since I'm a poor cheap bastard. 6 months of driving and 5,000km? Wish I didn't have to drive that much.
I'm at 30,000km and it's been 1 year and 8 months

btw, Nice clean special edition ride! I'm a jealous mofo now.

Barely used springs for sale in the classifieds. $150 is teh cheap. I've got them on my car and trust me, they're a great upgrade. Not so much in ride height, but performance! I'm sure they're still for sale. Someone get on it!

The DIY lip was well worth the money! i was constantly itching to buy a real lip, but i wasn't willing to fork out the $200+shipping to get a decent lip...plus with canadian roads, I don't want to stress out or worry if my lip will get scratched up or possibly cracked during daily driving....

Ultimately, the DIY lip looks great, no one's been able to stop me and ask me why "it looks like that" unless i point it out to them that it's rubber.

bodyshop has the pics, I'll try and get them at some point or swing by for my own pics before work starts on it. Still waiting for insurance to ok the work. When it's all fixed I'll post up pics.

No injuries for me or passenger, we ditched at only 40-50 kph, well under the 60-70 kph speed limit in the area.

Loose gravel on pavement to gravel transition + right junction + deer = ditch

But the damage:

All left side

Took the initial hit on the bumper seam to the fender while car was light from off camber slide into the ditch, beginning a straightening action that grazed a wheel and took out the driver's mirror, swung the back around into the object in the ditch.

So front bumper is gouged and mounts are broken on the left (new bumper)
Headlight just minorly scuffed and tiny crack in the top corner near the amber.
Work XT7 wheel rashed and slightly gouged.
front fender ate the bulk of the impact, crushed and mangled it good but it deflected the hit. Snapped the bumper mount slider inside.
driver's mirror cracked through, shattered the glass
driver's door no damage
driver's rear door flattened a curve a bit and scuffed minorly
driver's rear quarter dented 3 or 4 spots, gouged and scraped to the metal along the bumper seam
bumper is scraped to the plastic
drivers rear wheel no damage.

The good news is that I drove it out of the ditch and 75 km home, nothing leaking, no squeaks no additional wind noise, no alignment problems detected, no shakes, bangs or clunks, no vibrations, didn't see any damage under the car.

The appraiser hadn't called to confirm anything but looked at the car on tuesday, I noticed the hood had been popped so they looked everywhere for more damage, we'll see what comes out later when jamie gets me some quotes on a few parts to ship into canada. The bodyshop is letting me shop around for parts, but shipping a fender and bumper in from the states will negate any savings. The smaller bits and pieces will probably be shipped in.

Funny quotes from my insurance

"where's the car now?"
"in my driveway"
"how'd you get it home?"
"I drove it"
"how'd you get it out of the ditch?"
"I hit the gas"

from the police

"how'd you get it out of the ditch?"
"I hit the gas"

btw: bodyshop estimates with full retail price on parts the work to be about 4093 before tax. So with our crazy 14-15% tax it's just shy of 5k.

Wow, that sucks, glad you and your passenger are ok. And glad that the car isn't totalled, you can fix her up and keep her going.
