Default Fuel blending to racegas (91 to 100 octane)

Can anyone post the formula to blend fuel. I mean let say 2 gl of 91 to 100 octane. Since roughly 2 gl is in our reserve tank when the fuel light turn on. How much 101, 103, 105 or even 109 unleaded do I need to make 100 octane. Thanks

Pump octane is properly refered to as R+M/2 ----- that means it is the average of the Research octane and the Motor octane number. Research and Motor octane numbers are based on different testing protocols. The Motor octane is the most important number for a turbocharged highperformance engine.

Most everyone advertises the Research octane number because it is always higher than the Motor Octane by about 6 numbers.

If the advertised octane numbers seem too good to be true they are probably Research Octane numbers. If it is posted on the pump is should be the R+M/2 average octane. If you get the fuel literature from the fuel company they will frequently list both Research and Motor octanes.

The difference between the Research and Motor octane is typically about 6 numbers, so a fuel with a Research octane of 110 will usually have a Motor octane near 94.

Thanks hotrod, I think I'll be able to do some blending now. VP has 109 but in reality it's 105 R+M/2 to compare on 91 pump. I also found an excel file that would do the blending. Just make sure it's the same octane number on R+M/2.
