Gredyy e-manage ultimate info
I`m a newbi to modifications.I bought a Gredyy ultimate ( japanese version while in Japan)for my 02 Bugeye and would like to know if any body has had any succes with it?? i hear bad thing about the the regular E-manage but having a hard time finding input on the ultimate.
1.) Do i truly need a base map since the e-manage allows you to put in all the parameters? 2.) where can i get a copy of the stock map parameters. I have been to three tuners with so call experince with booth bug eye and e-manage but they really don`t mention why they haven`t had any succes. One thing was common was that they started with nothing (could be my misinterpretation.). Wich makes me wonder do they know the stock parametes to start from?? thanks

First thing first, I have been using the E-manage Ultimate for a few months. No problem so far.
The E-manage Ultimate is just a piggyback, it alters the stock ecu parameter; you do not need any base map for the Ultimate. I assume you do not have the English installation and operation manual, so please download it from the Greddy US website. It will answer most of your question. It is easy to tune, so most experience tuners should have no problems tuning it, even if they haven't use one. Btw, you cannot compare the Blue E-manage to the E-manage Ultimate, the Ultimate is far superior from the regular blue e-manage. However, eventhough the E-manage Ultimate is a very good product, it is still has a limitation of a piggyback unit. |

Pecosdude,
thanks for your input. I had that gut feeling but the bad reviews and lack of tuner succes in the area. Kinda made me wonder about what I or the tuners were lacking experience. btw, what are you running and what are your settings. thanks again for your input |

Since you already bought the thing, its too late for us to suggest other EM. The Ultimate is a new product, its hard to find support for it especially in the subaru community.
You will mostly get a bad review for any piggyback unit out there. You can still find people today giving negative comments about the UTEC, eventhough it has been widely used with good results. The E-manage Ultimate currently do not have a boost controller. You have to buy an Electronic Boost Controller if you plan to replace your Turbo. I myself is using the TurboXS DTEC Electronic boost controller. I am running a Deadbolt Super16G Turbo with Power Enterprise 800cc injectors. The injector is currently flowing at 650cc using sard Fuel Pressure Regulator. I had to reduce the flow from 800cc to 650cc because its hard to tune at 800cc (not sure whether it's because due to the Injectors or the Emanage). My mods also includes aftermarket headers, uppipe, downpipe and exhaust. The Ultimate has its own injectors control, it is far superior than the regular blue E-manage. The blue emanage control the fuel map by altering the MAF, whereas the Ultimate you can control the injector directly without having to manipulate the airflow. As for tuning, I tune mostly in the Open Loop area of the fuel & timing map; I let the stock ECU control the closed loop mode. The plus about the Ultimate is that you can connect a wideband AFR meter and let the Ultimate autotune your fuel map to the desired AFR. (don't forget to turn off the autotune after you get the desired AFR) As I said before, it is easy to tune the E-manage ULTIMATE, any experience tuners will be able to tune it. Don't forget to show them the manual. |
