Here are some finished pics. Overall, I am very happy with it. When the trunk is open, you can see the seam and a little bit of the ribbon used to stick them back together. I think I am going to use a piece of black plastic tape to cover it and make it look prettier. It's one of those things you would probabaly only notice if you were looking really close.

After a painful weekend it's finally done.

thanks a lot for the walk-through! The only issue I faced was when I was cutting the plastic box. At one point I wasn't sure that I have to drill around a wing kindof thing. Anyway, in the end I am very pleased with the outcome. I have to say this is a much painful project than headlights.

Oh and another thing. I underestimated the fittiment of crome piece inside the lense. I didn't do enough fitment. So what ended up happening was I scratched edges a lot. You could see scratches unfortunately. So me being a perfectionist, I reopened it, touched up scratches, trimmed lense piece more to ensure smoother fitment.

Now the car is perfectly blacked out, here's my headlights:

Since nobody decided to answer...

PSM is Platinum Silver Metallic, the lighter silver used on Imprezas through '05 (not sure when it started, '02 maybe)

Most Subaru colors (since '01, I think) can be referred to by a 3 letter acronym, PSM, CGM (Crystal Gray Metallic), SGM (Steel Gray Metallic), SWP (Satin White Pearl), etc.

wow... 'how to make an ugly taillight more ugly'

seriously though why isn't this in mod and care, i don't really see anything technical going on here.

the wagon lights look okay, better than the sedans at least ... how come no one's painted the housings red? if i had 06 lights the only thing i'd do to them is paint them red.(or trade them for 05s)
