Default Wowww this car is faaast. I just bought it~! Noise-re070 or ?

This car takes corners amazingly
The acceleration is amazing.
Until last night, while driving home from dealer ( my nearly new 05 sti ), I found myself emulating a behavior of Vette drivers- cruising slowly!! My whole life seeing Corvettes driving so slowly, always slightly annoyed and perplexed me. Sorry Vette drivers, I get it now!
So far I can think of these reasons for why I drove so "slowly" last night, like a Vette!
1. I now KNOW that this car is one of the quickest on the road-
2. I do not want to prove it to anyone, especially in view of #3
3. I do not want the hwy patrol to hassle me as I easily beat most challengers!

This is the first time in my life it felt easy, almost natural to drive at, or even below the speed limit, allowing all kinds of cars to pass!

This is not a criticism- it's a race car, but NOISE?
After ditching my family oriented Altima, I noticed the loud noise at cruising speed. I have owned a 240Z and a 280 with raced Chevy V8 included; so I know how rough a race car can sound. i am hoping the STI's noise is mostly the tires, RE 070. I do not want to lose too much handling, but the noise is a bit much for daily hwy driving.

Any instructions on use of manual sprayer for intercooler?

Do you want to use the normal sprayer or the jdm one hidden in the glovebox j/k. Congratulations on your purchase, sounds like you love it as much as everyone else does. You have stepped into the world of awd, use the force wisely

Default How much of noise is the OEW 070's?

Thanks. This car not only outperforms my previous Nissans but seems to be made better!!

How much of noise is the OEW 070's?

( I am not meaning to dis the cars sounds, some like the turbo are great to hear )

I guess the other options for noise are AWD, and perhaps a dearth of insulation for the sake of less weight?

Does a set of what, Avon 550 or pirelli Nero or Michelin Pilot's or maybe the Goodyear F1 etc significantly lower general noise while gently cruising at 70 mph?

I do not know a thing about the "when" of spraying the intercooler. I have no oil temp gauge or turbo gauge in car, do I need them as a guide for spraying?

I can't type anymore, my rocket ship is beckoning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's the tires + lack of sound deadening. My snow tires are even worse. Some Pilot Sports would quiet it down a bit I'd imagine.

Sometimes worn high-performance can get noisy.
