Default Recovered WRX - most of it at least

Great...

My WRX was stolen from my underground parking on Friday, today, I get a call from the Surrey police department saying my car has been recovered. The person gave a list of what's missing, but I'm guessing that it's far from comprehensive:

Missing: Hood, rear hatch, battery, front seats, spare tire, and interior bits. The person also said that my struts were missing but didn't mention anything about my wheels or springs (I was too shocked to ask). Also, the ignition was punched.

Anyway - I've heard of ICBC paying upto 15000$ to repair a Celica, so I kinda doubt that I'm getting a new car. But does anyone have experience with this?

holy crap! dude that suck big time! Man sometime you just wish they never find it... Make sure you bug the hell out of ICBC and dont settle until you get the most out of it... also claim for depreciated value because of it being a theft recovery your resale value is going to drop and they will pay you for it but you need to ask and bug them about it.... other wise you get screwed when you got to see..... in this case carfax is not your friend...

dont just accept the first offer they give you ever.... my mom got t-boned by two cars in one crash one from each direction booth ran a light how odd is that eh? and she had replacment insurance and they tried to tell her they would only fix it.... she fought and got an upgraded model because they didnt have the color she wanted.....

ICBC was really good to me. They should give you a decent settlement. If not, discuss it with them and work with them until you are happy.

Sucks to hear, but at least it's getting resolved.
