Exclamation Crucial Racing Uppipes! Pre-order now, ship next week! + cooling parts sale still on!

http://www.crucialracing.com/products/uppipe.php

^^^^ LINK

They're at our thermal barrier coater's right now and will be ready to ship out to you next week! We're currently taking pre-orders so your uppipe will ship the very second we get them from the coater.

These are our most recent version with full TIG welds internally for the smoothest possible exhaust flow and no flange distortion when welding, and TIG spot welds externally, as per Mr. Corky Bell's recommendation for turbo piping in order to ensure maximum strength and ability to expand and contract properly with heat cycling.

...image from that page of Maximum Boost (which is a great book, btw)...

...Follow the link at the top of this post for more information and more pictures of these welds, etc, on our website...

Additionally, these uppipes employ a new internal coating! Just released in the last couple of months, this brand new coating is made exclusively for the inside of exhaust parts and exhaust ports. It is a thermal reflective coating, employing a small amount of 24k gold and other metallic elements to help reflect heat and prevent it from soaking into the metal in the first place. That heat remains inside of your exhaust, increasing velocity and energy and helping spool your turbo more quickly and improving boost response!

On the outside, our famous two-layer thermal barrier coating is applied to make sure the heat stays inside of the parts where it belongs and out of your engine bay!

Brand new Wurth studs are included. Instructions (PLEASE READ THEM!!!!) are included. EGT fix is included. Shipping is included. Lifetime warranty included.

This is the best uppipe on the market!

They're being assembled this week and will be shipping this week. That puts them at our thermal barrier coater's early next week. Hopefully we'll be getting some finished ones by the end of next week and the remainder the week after!

So..... very soon

I'm thinking of putting in an order for the locking retainers and copper gaskets. I'll buy an uppipe as well if you can convince me that it is superior to my investment cast COBB unit I have now. In other words, give me a reason to buy it and I probably will.

. ...I try to avoid direct comparisons in public in a bid to at least appear diplomatic

That said, I also try to be as honest as possible when asked questions like that and since I'm just answering a direct question, I'm a little more comfortable commenting a touch...

If I were in your shoes and had been using the Cobb uppipe with good results, I wouldn't spend the money to change to a different uppipe. The Cobb is similar to ours in terms of diameter and lack of turbulence, so I don't think you would feel any difference in terms of seat of the pants. There would definitely be a difference in underhood temps and maybe slightly quicker spool/better response with ours because of the thermal coating. While that might be a reason to purchase ours in the first place, I still wouldn't swap at this point just because of that. The uppipe is enough of a pain in the butt to swap that I'd have to have a darn good reason to do it . I have been told many times that fitment on ours is as good as it gets... specifically, that it is significantly better than *certain* other pipes on the market.

All that said, if you haven't installed the pipe yet you could probably buy ours and sell that one and come darn close to breaking even. It would still be a bit of work to do that though and the Cobb pipe is definitely very very nice! There's no way I would say that you should do it . You'll have to make that semi-crazy decision.

The Locking Retainer Kit is very cool for sure though

I appreciate your honesty. I'm taking out my uppipe anyway to swap gaskets because for the 3rd time I was to lazy to do a proper retorque and have yet another exhaust leak.

Do you have the copper gaskets and locking retainers in stock?

Jeremy's freely-given (and detailed) advice was a godsend when I was doing my UP install -- and I didn't even have a Crucial UP! (OK, OK, I was installing a Crucial shorty DP at the same time -- for which I have nothing but warm, fuzzy feelings). Here's a link to his recommended "best practice" for installation of the UP: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1029298 (see post #15).

I also took my time during the install, torquing the bolts down, leaving things for a couple hours, then re-torquing. I did this 3 times. Then after 100 miles or so, I'd take the lower heat-shield off and check the torque. I did that twice, at which point I was satisfied that nothing was coming loose.

Oh -- and I used the copper gaskets, and copper gasket spray.

Also -- use rubbing alcohol, or Brakleen or something to wash down the bolts/nuts if you're using PB Blaster or whatever so the torques are correctly reported. The one place I didn't thoroughly clean (engine mount bolt), I over-torqued and stripped the nut. NOT a good feeling.

...And I'm off my soapbox...! Sorry for the hijack. Bottom line: Jeremy and Crucial Racing are awesome to deal with, and make many a fantastic product!

Yes sir. They're all in stock.

As are uppipes now!

...and thanks for the kind words, Fromage . We do include instructions with every uppipe that are fairly comprehensive with tips and whatnot for a successful and permanent installation. I updated the post you linked to just a touch... HERE

OTHER ITEMS:

We happen to have these two items from a customer who went another route with his car and we were kind enough to not stick him with the bill

1) Helix 660 cc top feed injectors. Set of 4. Brand spaking new. Normally $470 shipped. $450 shipped! Save yourself $20

2) Cobb Tuning 304 stainless uppipe with EGT tap, metallic ceramic thermal barrier coated inside and out by us.

Normally $235 + shipping from Cobb or a Cobb dealer, obviously not thermal coated. When we coat other uppipes for customers, it runs $45 plus return shipping for most cases. Total would be $280 + shipping charges. Hmmmm.... how about $249.95 shipped USPS Priority?!?!?!

Coated Cobb pipe pictures:

E-mail (which is preferred. CrucialRacing@gmail.com) or PM me for details on how to pick these things up. We'll probably just do PayPal for them.

Follow the link at the very top of the first post!

Uppipes are IN STOCK. Our prices always include shipping. On the uppipe page there you can also get our copper gasket set at a $15 discount vs. the normal price for the full set (which is already discounted vs. buying them individually). It makes them a lot less expensive than stock gaskets! And they work beautifully and seal great. Nothing wrong with OEM gaskets either, but it's nice to buy from one place, save some $$$, and the Cu-seal gaskets really perform!

Hope it helps.

Yes, Hawaii and Puerto Rico also! The shrouds ship USPS so there is no cost difference for us to those places vs. the continental US... so there isn't one for you, either

Picking up the DP's on Monday. Our coater had delay after delay and kept pushing us back .... basically why we try very hard to not take pre-orders. No matter how close it seems, something always manages to cause a delay.

You should have received tracking info to your e-mail via Stamps.com on the 16th when it shipped. I see it arrived a while ago at this point ...and sorry for missing your post in here. Probably better to shoot an e-mail or PM than post up in some thread if you want an update, just for future reference...
