Default oil filters jap vs reg 6 star

Seriously, is it worth paying the price of two six stars for the jap one? tia!

I know they are supposedly better but how much better can it get?

They recommend all turbo models to get the Japanese filters. There was a problem with the regular oil filters getting too hot because of the larger size and the physical placement. I believe there was even a recall for all STi owners to go with the Japanese one?

I have no idea.

The way I see it. $35000+ car...fighting over saving $5-10 on a filter which Subaru recommends..hmmm

At this point in time I'd like to say refering Japanese goods to "jap" is racist.

I think people in general are getting waaay too sensitive. But if this is the way it is going, I'll jump on the bandwagon: I am insulted and deeply hurt by the vague reference to my ethnicity as being "white". From now on, you may refer to my race as caucasian or euro-canadian. Or I'll beat you. Then sue you and your ethnicity.

ps, this was not aimed at any individual on this board, but rather should be viewed as a typical VIC teh o/t response.
