Extremely capable, very competent, great hardware and materials used, and very well thought out parts and products. Not to mention a very reliable tune that is going to be conservative and not on the ragged edge.
However, their prices are not competitive, and their presence promoting on this board disappeared a while back. So basically no one cares, and they are not a major contender anymore. As an alternative, there are dozens of other companies that have similar products that meet and exceed their products for less money. Being a n00b such as yourself (judging by member number) you have much research to do, and much learning to do, to find what works and what doesn't. Perhaps look in the regional forums and make friends, and go to any suby meets. |

I have two friends with EVO 8's that had amazing results with the Xede piggy back after having it custom tuned by Shiv. Fortunately Shiv does a dyno tune day about twice a year in Houston so its close enough to drive over to have the car tuned by the tuner who designed the system instead of a local shop tuner who has a fraction the experience someone like Shiv would have. Shiv doesn't just tune your car on the dyno and tell you, "All done". He actually gets in the car and takes it for a drive to ensure everything is running like it should.
If Shiv doesn't do any local dyno tunes in your area you are probably better off going with the Cobb AP. A lot of depends what you want... if you just want the best off the shelf map, then I'd research to see which company has the best results for the best price. |
