Hi Terrance,

ECU should be to you by the end of the week. Sorry for the long delay. Headers took some time to arrive here after ordering. Thanks again.

Thumbs down

I am having the worst experience here

Ordered $2k of parts a MONTH ago, never got a tracking number. Then I was told that it is the manufacture's fault that they had faulty products and had them redone - ok, I am cool with that, **** happens (even though nobody let me know about it and I found out when I called couple of weeks later)
NOW, I was told it was shipped out last wensday and my logistics broker says there's nothing at the warehouse, I tried calling but noone even picks up now and nor returns my calls! I can't get a tracking number either
this stuff was supposed to be in Moscow weeks ago already, now my head is going to be twisted off

We were closed over the weekend for a show in LA. I will see what the delay on your order might be when I arrive in the AM. Will call you as soon as I get in. Thanks.

Crower ground all of the cams wrong by 20 thou. All of them where recalled and we where told not to sell the rest. When you ordered yours we did not know this. Would you rather us ship you cams that had the base circle ground wrong This was the reason for the delay and it was 100% out of my control... Sometimes things like this happen.

I am sorry for you not being able to get in touch with us. I have been traveling all week tuning cars and just got back and we also had shows to attend. If mike did not reach you this morning email me or give me a call so we can figure out what you want to do. We do have Kelford cams and Jun.

Great service, Clark is a very good tuner. If you are going to send an ECU in for a reflash they can answer all your questions. I wish I knew about Kingpin when I first got my WRX.

Crower received 100 sets of cores, only a limited number of sets would clean up to stock base circle, most couldn't with the larger spec. We are blowing out the cores with less material beacuse our new, revised cores are in route (end of May is realistic). The small base circle cores will work fine as long as you use thicker shims, longer valves, etc...the price is right and some are going that route. On the Stage 2's spec, we're talking as low as .015" reduction which is doable with shims. Others are choosing to wait for the stock base circle cores.

The good news is that we learned our lesson and will not make the same mistake on the 2.5 STi cams, figure in about 6 months or so.

Thanks,

Brian

I too have a set of stage 2s that I was going to use with the OEM 2002 WRX hydraulic valvetrain, are these going to adjust themselves okay?

They weren't discounted either.

After reading Brians post a couple of times it seems that some of the cores that Crower received would clean up to the stock base circle. Hopefully those of us that already have the cams and paid full price for them got the few cores that would reach the correct base circle.

Your Famous last words.

Below is just a small example of what Kingpin is all about. That would be, ripping off the customer.

1st they install a RH AC control unit, $200 for the WRONG used part, 6hrs. labor to install or another $510 = $710 total.

This one is self explanitory

Dave: Oh **** Mike this won't work
Mike: Make it work biotch!!!!

Just cross all the cables and KP customize it...........

So Mike *** were you thinking when you did this (and many more even worse) things to my car? You, my friend, are standing on a sinking ship.

I hope that all the rest of you patrons of KP see the light. they are crooks to the core.

Once Again i have been let down by Kingpin

A few months ago i called and ordered the AVCS Harness and paid for it. Waited for nearly a week and didn't recieve anything. I then called and left message upon message and didn't recieve a call back. Then by chance i got hold of mike and he said it was shipped out and i should recieve it in a day or so.... I waited no harness then i recieved a PM saying that they were on back-order I asked for my money back and that was the end of that.

Tuesday i sent my ECU to get re-flashed they recieved it thursday I paid for overnight back and now it's saturday and no ECU Why did i pay for overnight? shouldn't i have recieved it by now? I know that when i dealt with COBB thats the way the deal went.

Kingpin we too have projects and find it very frustrating when there is poor customer service.

Kingpin isn't a car repair shop, it is a "help me build my show car" scam that is under the disquise of a shop. KP takes your/our money and sinks it into their cars PERIOD.
I was just talking to a guy at the NASA event yesterday that said Clark has made 6 ill fated attemptes at tuning his car. They are trying now to sell him the plagerized KP turbo kit to solve the problem. KP turbo=car show fund raiser. On a good note, I was impressed that there were 5-6 Subby's there and they all thought KP sucked, that's a good sign. I brought along my F'ed by K AC control unit for show and tell. That, along with my "I was F'ed by Kingpin, ask me how" window sticker gave me many opportunities to promote the real KP.

THESE GUYS ARE THE ONLY SHOP I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN MY ENTIRE LIFE WHO WANT YOUR MONEY UP FROM. I'VE HAD 5 FIGURE REAIR BILLS AT OTHER SHOPS AND THEY HAVE NEVER ASKED TO BE PAID UP FRONT.

BOYCOTT THESE GUYS ALREADY, GEEZ

I'm not sure why NASIOC still has them on the approved vendor listing. Moderator? Care to explain?

Stuart,
My apologies for the delay in shipping the ECU. We had a bench flasher faliure and have had to use a donor car to get the flashes done. It has set us back a few days. I am sorry for that. I appreciate your patience. You should recieve your ECU tomorrow. Thanks.

Since I know one of your unhappy customers... I will tell you my recomendation to you guys (KINGPIN)

Three words:

BUY A CAMERA

I hear Tiger Direct has great deals.. if not, try www.techbargains.com

Do you realize what problems you would avoid if you simply snapped a pic.

a picture is worth 1000 words..
