I didn't say you would see gains, but you're going to loose out some lowend because of the small stock turbo. I run a Hyperflow TMIC on a TD05H-20G on my 2.0L WRX.

A FMIC is more about keeping your intake temperature stable. You may not see huge gains, but heat soak is also a PITA. The extra lag isnt as bad as everybody says on the STi. Especially since you will practically eliminate heat soak.

You won't notice the difference with a properly tuned Stg2 Sti with a FMIC. I put one on my car for the heat soak issue during daily driving & especially at autox's. After I had it tuned the car drove so much smoother than when tuned for the TMIC. Just my .02

FMIC is going to be far more beneficial on a bigger turbo, as everyone has said. It won't really be negative, as I ran a FMIC on a VF39 on my WRX, and I did get some gains over running the stock IC. There was a quite a bit of lag, as I was running an enormous Perrin front mount, but it wasn't as bad as everyone told me it would be. I would get a bigger turbo, then think about a front mount.

You'll be allright, i got it in mine 06 STi with the perrin FMIC and it runs pretty, a little lag but its ok and yeap you would be see different numbers with the FMIC especially on the MID range and Harder on Top end and if you go for a bigger turbo its the best option.
