Default fuel pressure regulater

I got 67k on my 03 Wrx. When do you usually replace the fuel pressure regulater? How can you test it to see if it is working properly?

The FPRs are usually pretty durable. I believe the run at 35psi @ idle with vacuum line disconnected.
It one fails, it fails on the side of TOO MUCH pressure. It can spike up to 65-70 lbs and cause the car to run so rich that the ECU can't compensate. You'll usually get a CEL at that point however (system too rich).
If you find that you need one I have a brand new one just sitting in my house for an 03 WRX. I believe Subaru charges $104.00 for one.
