News Help?

Does anyone who has ever swapped trunks want to help me out. A girl from CO is going to come down here to swap trunks with me on Sat the 14th. I would like to get this done so I can test out the wingless effect on the drive on Sunday . I have read a few threads on how to do it but if anyone is bored and wants to help it would be cool. I will buy beer of your choice. Let me know.

IMO...Driving at any high speed without the wing you will not get the down force you need and the rear end will feel loose. At least that was the experience with my "03" WRX.

That is what Helmut said too! What do you consider high speed? High speed is not my cup of tea. But if it is that noticable I don't think swapping back will be a problem.

If on a track and doing over 120, you will feel it. Now Car_Cursed has had Cassieswrx up to 150, and can tell you what that feels like.. on a track of course. Cuse we do not street race here.

you will be fine at excessive speeds (on tracks) I have drived cassies car with a wrx spoiler at high speeds, a ver7 STi spoiler, and wingless, as long as the road is flat and not alot of up and down you will be fine.

I notced the rear end loose just driving on the fwy at normal speeds. It was one of the first things that I noticed just after I purchased my first WRX.
As for driving over 120+...I wouldn't know anythng about that.

it took me about 30 minutes. I have done trunk swaps about 4 times. its not bad at all. the hardest part is the stupid clip that holds in the lock.

what year is it? I am considering going wingless on my 06 sti. I think it will look stupid with the wind deflecter over the rear window and no wing. I thought there was some law about not having a 3rd breaklight?

I have a 05. I don't know about a law about a 3rd brake light Wingless on 06 doesnt look too bad I think the WRX wing looks good though. It makes it so that roof wing does'nt stand out as much. There is a guy named martind on here. Search for his car, its a 06 STi with a WRX trunk I think it looks great.
