Default Will 02-03 Struts Fit My 04 STi

Like it says.

I'm trying to find a way to put some KYB AGX's on my 04 STi. I was told there is a "washer" method, but I have yet to find out the specs I need. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Cody

You will need 2-3 washes to space the top hats up (rears only). Do not get the thin washes, get heavy duty ones (around 1/4" spacer is need).

2.75 mm washer thickness is the correct amount.

Okay. Thanks.

But my next question is:

Since I can put 02-03 sturts on, can I use 02-03 springs? Or do I need new tophats?

Thanks,
Cody

You would need 02/03 rear tophats to use 02/03 springs (fronts are identical) and you would NOT need the washers as it would all be kosher 02/03

So what you are saying is:

Front:
02-03 Springs
02-03 Struts
04-05 Tophats (can I use 02-03?)

Rear:
02-03 Springs
02-03 Struts (spacers not needed)
02-03 Tophats

Is that right?

Thanks,
Cody

Rear:
02-03 Springs YES
02-03 Struts (spacers not needed) YES
02-03 Tophats YES. The only gotcha is that the 02/03 style hats use a separate rubber ring (I suppose technically it's an upper perch) which IIRC is not supplied with the tophat - see Arnie's pic here - you may need to buy that separately.

Is that right?

Thanks,
Cody

But I'm not sure what to look at or what part to get.

So that's the only part that's not with a kit, that I need to buy?

Thanks,
Cody
