Default Looking for rust remove/touchup shop in Andover/Lowell area

Hi,

A friend of mine have a 1997 A4, and he has some rust on the trunk.
A shop in Tewksbury ask for $400 to remove and repaint the area.

I think it is too much $$$ to spend on a 10yr old car.
He just want to stop the rust to expand to other area.

Any recommenation on a good shop around that area that will do rust
removal + touchup for $50 - $100?

Thanks

T.L.

Rust fixing is extremely expensive if done properly. It may be cheaper possibly if you buy a wrecked A4's trunk of similar color and replace it.

$50-$100 will buy the same protection from spreading as taking a spray paint can to it.

cdvma fixed the rust on my car with stuff from Paintscratch.com and some Rust bullet. He did all the work himself and it looked SO GOOD. He hadn't ever done it before either. I think the total cost of him doing it was about 100 bucks. That was the paint, body filler, supplies, and this stuff called Rust Bullet.

Shoot him a PM if you want to know more.

To stop the rust you have to blow off the existing rusted metal until you get back to good metal. After that you have to seal it environmentally. If you take off too much metal or its all the way through you have to put metal back in and thats the expensive part. If you have some gonads, some time and no metal to replace you can DIY with some rust inhibitor (I used Rust Bullet) and then touch it up with body filler and paint.
