A small request
Seems like almost everyday there are several posts about 'I saw this car, somewhere, was it you?', espcially WRX's. And, 1 out of 50 are actually someone from the club. In the meantime, content posts get pushed off the front page.
Can we please just have a single permanent thread named Sightings, or something. That gets cleaned out by the mods, once in a while? Perhaps I'm the only one with this pet peeve, but I'm guessing not.

I have my prefs set to show the last two days posts (actually 2.5 days) and the NW forum rarely has more than 1 page under that setting. Due to the nature or the way the board works automatically the posts that don't have activity get pushed down. This is the way it should be.
I feel that the moderators will not want the responsibility to have to keep cleaning out a post of old threads and risk deleting someone's post that still wants it there. If a good content thread is posted by nature it will stay at the top until it looses interest then it will slip down off the first page. This is the way it should work and it is automatic and doesn't need a moderator to manually do anything. I myself don't want to read though a 50+ post thread looking for if "I was spotted". Again it comes down to a Good subject title. If you saw a white RS sedan in Renton at 4:00pm the title should state "Saw a white RS sedan in Renton today 4pm" or something like that so everyone knows what the post is about without looking. 90% of post complaints could be solved with a good subject line. Nick needs to alter the BBS program so the subject line can be edited so any post with a bad subject line can be fixed. Dave [This message has been edited by david2z4 (edited April 21, 2001).] |
