Yes, but your options are limited to Borla, right now. Given the low quality of the Borla product, I guess that is the same as not having any header choices

Welllll it all depends on how you're planning to turbo your car. If you've got a specific up pipe and downpipe in mind (for example, the ones off a legacy turbo) then you'll need legacy turbo headers and crossmember. If you're going with a kit for the 2.5RS or getting a custom piece made, then you can work with anything that will bolt up to the stock exhaust system. Oh, and headers and exhaust manifold both refer to the same set of pipes hanging off the bottom of your engine block.

Before you go any further, I really suggest reading the numerous posts on putting turbos on the RS. You are not nearly well enough informed on the subject and it is not a trivial task. There is a lot of information on this on the i-club, if people bother to look.

For this specific question, the way most turbo kits work leaves the headers untouched and attaches an up-pipe between the headers and the turbo. Some people define headers in a specific way that is only applicable to normally aspirated motors. If you just call it an exhaust manifold, it applies to normally aspirated or forced induction and your Honda friend might stop arguing. The part is completely unchanged either way.

Well, you did post in a forum dedicated to putting turbos on cars that don't have them from the factory. By and large, that means turbos on RSes. Just looking at the current list of threads in the forum, there is a lot of interesting reading, if you can be bothered to do it.

Question the pipe that goes right out the engine?

Okay, so it seems like if you are doing a legacy turbo, you'll get the legacy header, the up-pipe, the turbine, the downpipe, the center pipe and the exhaust and then the X-MEMBER for clearance.

So what about the Japanese stock GC8 STI header? It will fit the engine block, correct? I haven't read much about the header (exhaust manifold) from the Japanese STI, someone said it won't fit... Any suggestions?

thanks

There was a _lengthy_ thread about this. The up-pipe will not clear the SOHC heads. If you swap in DOHC heads, you have enough clearance, but you still need the new crossmember, etc.

The pain, the pain.

Here is a _current_ thread on the subject, no searching required. This thread, also current, is all about somebody going about turboing their car the wrong way and what can happen. Look at this thread (I had to bump the threads listed to the last 2 days to find it), all about putting WRX headers on an RS.

It took all of 2 minutes to locate these _without_ using search, imagine what you could've done if you had bothered to even look for an answer in the hours since you first posted this question.

So please, instead of posting the same question over and over and refusing to try AT ALL on your own, GO READ!

Ben

PS - I'm done posting helpful posts on this thread.
