Default grrr... my car was broken into in my driveway

My damn car was broken into in my driveway, now it is not like i live in a bad neighborhood, I live in a neighborhood with 500k+ houses and we are not surrounded by ghetto either. The worst part is I am supposed to park in the garage, that is the agreement with my roommates but I could not do so last night. they did not steal much, they even left my wallet. but god damnit i am pissed, at whoever broke in and that this would not have happened if I didn't have to park outside.

My advice to you is to start drinking heavily and to punch the first guilty looking guy in teh throat to walk by your house.

Sorry for your loss C_C.

Look at the upside though, they didn't take your wallet which would be a PITA to replace your license and all the cards therein never mind the identify theft issues.
Also atleast they didn't take your whole car and left you with a wy to get to work without having to pay for a rental.

But why do people think crimes occur only in a "bad neighborhood" or in and about a ghetto?
Crime is global and criminals have cars to travel too, even to nicer & better neigborhoods.

Why do you live in a neighborhood with 500k houses and yet you have roomates? Do you and 5 other guys share a McMansion or something?

The key is, to have a ****ty car among a bunch of other ****ty cars, like I do at my apartment complex. That way it's hard for them to choose.

Also don't leave your wallet in your car, dip****.

I usually leave my wallet in the car when I park in the garage and just forgot it because my hands were full because I just got back from the store.

Who keeps ANYTHING of value in their car? The only thing of any value are the sunglasses in my center console, out of sight.

C_C,

People commonly break into garages as well, which is not hard to do.
This has happened with regularity in every neighborhood I've ever lived in from ghetto to where I used to live in VA on a rural golf course community ($1M+ homes and mine was custom) to where I live now today.
Market price of your home or your neighbors means little to nothing. Your zip code means little to nothing. Even what kind of car you drive means little to nothing. I once had someone break into my Chevette and bust out the passenger side window just to steal a Kraco AM/FM radio that didn't even play cassettes!

Always keep your wallet with you as the identity theft issues with one lost can be costly and is a major PITA.
Just an FYI...

Agreed.
In fact this is yet another reason why I never put a radio in the STi.
For why? So it can be stolen or I'd Ihave to also invest in an alarm as well, no thanks. It's not a requirement to enjoy my ride.

Yes, my STi has no alarm either.

That's the same reason why we don't get cars with built-in navigation.
