I will actually be heading to Peoria prolly within the next week or two with a buddy to pick up his new WRX. It's in now, but he is on vacation in Florida for the week. It would be cool if it worked out to be the same weekend we head down.

I drove by that dealer last night; they have a blue wagon, but I didn't stop to see if it was a manual. There's not a lot of space at there unless they move a lot of their cars away, and not much near there in the way of good food. I'd still shoot for the riverfront if possible.

I've got a corporate apartment downtown and could house a few long distance drivers if there are any.

I wouldn't say the RS is dumpy. As much as I love my Rex, it's the WRX which looks kinda dumpy. I equate the turbo lag as a fat old lady waiting to gather up the petticoats before she runs like a bat out of hell.

Now do you guys want to do Peoria or Bloomington Normal?? I was thinking we could get a hotel somewhere...prolly like a motel 6. I dunno how you guys are about sharing rooms but 4 people to a room makes for a pretty cheap weekend. ANy opinions on this?? There is a dealer in both peoria and bloomington/normal but the one in peoria seems to be larger. I dunno how much that matters. Not sure what there is to do around either but i am sure we can find something.

Please respond.

Either is fine with me frankly. The bigger the dealership the merrier I'm sure.

And as for bunking with someone, I have no problem doing that, but FWIW I don't think anyone would want to bunk with my snoring ass.

I'm partial to Peoria Just because I live there during the work week. Can't say much about Bloomington; it's about 30 miles away. It just sounds like our St. Louis friend already has plans underway for Peoria, and there's plenty to do and see here.

I have no problem sharing rooms, either location is fine by me as well...I'm pretty easy going. As long as its a weekend, I'm there...I work all week, and some weekends..yuck.

Hey Jorge-
We could bunk together and have a snoring contest! See if we can bring the roof down.

i'm for peoria, my bro went to ISU in normal, his truck was vanalized like 3 times for around 2500-3000 in damage total. I dont want that happening to my scoob.
i know, im paranoid....

getting a hotel would be nice, i guess we could hit the bar and not worry about the ride back

if its going to be an entire weekend, there should definitly be some type of fromal event (i.e. auto-x/rally-x). as much as i love you all, i'm not going to sit around and look at cars sitting motionless for an entire weekend. i already know all the stl guys (unfortunately ) and last time i was in chicago, no one even wanted to go out to a bar or anything on a saturday night

we need to get some more formal plans...so peoria it is. I am saying that i am not sure the dealer will be at all cooperative with this idea so we might just be on our own to get this going. WE'll obviosuly have to get some plans together for stuff to do.

Jeremy

Yotsua- get a list of things to do/see in peoria if you don't mind

bump-

I don't think there's an SCCA division around Peoria, but I don't know. If you want to handle setting up an autocross Jeff, feel free.

Peoria it is, I'm going to call the dealer Monday and try to get a solid range of dates.

Hey guys, I'm in Springfield, so I'm kinda in the middle as well.

I'm up for a meet in Peoria, I think it would be a lot of fun. There is actually a very active club in the area, the Heart of Illinois Sports Car Club. They put on a number of autocrosses under the banner of the Central IL Region SCCA. Good folks.

I've talked with Parkway Subaru in the past, and they seem pretty good. I wouldn't be surprised if they are willing to help. However, a trip down to the riverfront might be good, too.

Let's keep this going, it would be nice to finally meet some of you! Especially the Chicago guys...I've met some of the St. Louis folks, and, well, you know....

Um, yeah, that's what I meant...

After seeing some of you guys at the autocrosses this summer, the Chicago guys will HAVE to seem a bit more sane...
