Both are probably way overkill. The APS725 is massive and the Perrin is very big. Usually people run much larger turbos with those intercoolers, like GT30's, GT35's, etc. When you get an intercooler that is too large you pay extra penalty on lag but get almost nothing back in terms of colder air.

I'm not sure what is considered a good, small front mount these days. It seems people stick with top mounts until they get a large front mount, but I personally wouldn't discourage it because heatsoak is a bitch.

i have an aps dr725. it is massive like freon said, but it works awsome for my setup. hell i even had this fmic with a vf34 it cuased my full boost to come in around 4000 rpm,but it was worth it. my only beef with the aps unit is the coating bubbles up and starts to chip off ,and aps refuses to acknowledge this. so if i had to pick i would still pick aps ,as i am not a fan of perrin stuff. and you keep the fogs with the aps fmic

I might have one for sale too. I ran a VF39 on a perrin (overkill? nah), and it actually didn't have all that much lag. My buddies GT35 has a ton more lag. I'm not sure what the sr 30 would compare to, as I am only familiar with the bigger guys in the sr family. I do know what the APS 725 is 725ccs If I recall correctly, where the Perrin is 1100cc. The perrin might cool a little better, but that's a lot of room to fill with air. If you hold your stock IC next to it, it is literally about 6 times the size, maybe more. Just some food for thought, if you were eventually going to go for a bigger turbo I'd probably get the Perrin, but if not, go for something smaller like the APS or a TurboXS, as you could probably save some money.

The APS is bigger than the Perrin, I don't think those cc #s are correct. Perrin and TurboXS are comparable in size, the DR725 is much bigger.

Buy the SSAutochrome FMIC kit, which will run you well south of $500, and then spend the extra $300 you would have spent on the Perrin kit for other go-fast parts. You won't be dissapointed.

I've never had a Perrin, but I do have the APS DR725 in black with my 20G turbo upgrade, and I love it. Yeah, it's massive, but I will never have to change IC's again, no matter what size turbo I decide to go with next !
