im having white looking smoke coming outta my exhoust.... dont know wut it can be. but some ppl told me it can be my headgaskets or values or my turbo.?? if its the above.. how much would it cost to fix.. or wut should i do to find out.? thanks..
im asking cuz i brought it to some shop and i think hes trying to dick me over.. cuz if its the headgasket or the values... the part alone shouldnt cost more then $200..or if the heads fxxx up. then the cheap way for me is to buy a use stock WRX head and juz put that in.right? how much would labor run about cuz i know to do the head. u gotta take out the whole engine?? ..well anyway the guy from the shop told me its gona cost over 3gs to do it.. or even better he told me to get a new motor.. the car still drives and drives fine.. juz the white smoke..
soo im getting the car back from the shop tomorrow and bring it to some where else.. im from Nj near newark.. any good subaru shop thats good?? let me know about my problems.. thanks a lot guys...

is it consuming coolant at all or oil? is it running poorly? It could be a blown head gasket but what are the symptoms? This time of year all the cars are going to give off white smoke.

He said cylinder head gaskets or valves, it could also be a turbo that has gone bad. Did anyone do a leakdown test and compression test of the motor to identify the source of the problem?

if you are running on only 3 cylinders, your car will not run fine. If it is running on 3 cylinders only part of the time you should be able to here the miss. If you doubt that shop, it is pretty easy to do a compression check or have another shop verify what this shop is saying.
