Talking Got my 17" UK rims today!!

Picked up the packages at UPS this morning. Wheels all look great in person, only one scuff mark that I would call significant and I'm guessing it will be invisible from more than a few feet away. As much as I want to put them on the car now, I'm thinkin' I should probably just wait until the spring. There's not much point in spending hundreds of dollars on tires when I'll just be taking the wheels off in a few weeks to slap on the winter wheels. But, the temptation is strong.....

Unfortunately, I have to fight with UPS now about shipping charges. According to their online rate calculator, using the exact dimensions and the exact weight, shipping should have been about 141GBP, or about $205-210. Instead it came to $296. When I saw that number on the note the driver left on my door yesterday, I assumed the difference was due to Customs duties - more than I expected they would be, but I really didn't have anything to base my expectations on. Well, when I picked up the wheels this morning and expressed my confusion about the cost, they made some phone calls to the international brokerage and I was told there were no duties charged at all.

The explanation I was given was that the higher shipping charges resulted from the size of the packages. If that's the case, why the hell does their online rate calculator (which uses the dimensions I input) give me a different quote??!! Why bother to ask for dimensions if it apparently doesn't use them??!!

I feel your pain, UPS is a damn pain in the balls sometimes. It took me a week to get someting shipped out to another I-club member (in Canada) because nobody at UPS would give me a straight answer on what paperwork was required.

I'll still use UPS, but I won't be shipping to Canada anymore.

Unhappy

shipping seems to be a PITA lately... my brother(Lord Bass) is late getting his Brullen catback for his TS because FedEx is being crappy... dunno what's up with that.

But on the other hand... look at it this way: you have UK 17's now! woohooooo!!!
