Default 2001 forester recall

I just bought a 2001 forester.
For its carfax, I found it did a coolant conditioner recall in this september.
So I'm wondering what kind of recall is this?
Do I need to continuously add this conditioner to the coolant?

Thanks!

Not sure why this is in this forum?

It's a TSB...not a recall. Subaru was never legally required to do it. It has to do with the headgaskets. A small percentage of people were having issues with the headgaskets going prematurely. Subaru's solution was to add this conditioner to the coolant and extend the headgasket warranty to 100,000miles(if it was performed). You do continue to add the conditioner with each coolant flush. It's like $2 for a bottle or something.

Might want to ask this in the service/maintenance forum for more information.

it is a recall on my99 to my02, letters were sent out and all. cars still come in all the time with the recall open, usually when they're being sold at a dealer or have just changed hands.

and yes you do have to add the stuff everytime you do a complete coolant change.
