Might be the fact that Uther (My server) has a 2:1 ratio Alliance:Horde, but man, I couldn't find help when I was leveling. There's always help on Alliance.

Then I rolled on a PvP server (which is ****ing gay btw) and I was literally getting ganked every 30 minutes by 60's while at level 35ish.

Plus there's the whole layout of the major cities thing. Ogrimmar is literally retarded in it's layout. UC is like a maze. The only cool one is TB, but noone uses that.

IF is the pwn.

That sucks, because I've logged in about 6+ hours so far. Died once though, doh! It's definantly worth it. if you like RPGs get it, if you like FF get it. if you like efeminant men and scantly clad women get it.

i got the Collectors Edition game and game guide. the CE game comes with 2 bonus DVDs and all kinds of features that I should have brought with me to work so I could watch them at lunch. the CE game guide comes with a cover of one of the main characters, a 90 page booklet of art and the standard guide.

I can't wait to get home, work is going to go reaaaaalllllllllllllllllll slowwwwwwwwwwww today.

I'm for FFXII

FFXII FTW :0

Also, we should re-name this thread to "The AKIC Gaming Thread of Doom!"

Well, the doom part is optional, but, this is a gaming thread.

Or not.

Who's getting A Wii? Or a PS3?

I'm getting a Wii. I was the last person to get a pre-order at Gamestop in the Dimond Center.

I heard FF XII was so badly trying to rip off WoW that the game just sucks.

One of my buddies returned his copy already.

PS3 for me but that will be down the road.

FF12 is not ripping of WoW. FF12 is not online for one thing like WoW is. There will not be a monthly fee. You pop in the disc and play it like you would any of the other original FF titles that have been around for WAY longer the World of Warcraft. Now you could be refering to FF11 which is online. But I'd sooner compare FF11 online to Guild Wars since I don't think you can go out into the maps and just kill someone else's character. You have to team up with parties or solo the lands with a skill bar.

FF12 is a game about certain characters coming together by chance who will ultimatly save the world. Kinda a common theme for FF games. Hardly a WoW ripoff

FFXII is not like WoW. FFXII is a very intuitive game with lots of customization to do. (I guess you can do that in WoW, but that doesn't mean it's a "rip off"). Did your buddy say why he thought it was like WoW?

The game starts off slow, but, there's lots to do and you can customize any of your characters any way that you want to.

If you really want to get technically you could say WoW is trying so badly to rip off D & D it sucks, or ripping off FF1, or FF2, et cetera.

Try not to listen to too many other people, go look around online and you'll see a lot more good reviews of this game, than not. There's always haters--then again there are always fanboys too, but, I regress.

you should have bought the game from your friend and played it.

I read you can program your FF characters to react to certain situations... like if one's health gets below half to cast a cure spell and then attack or something like that? Sounded really interesting.

Yeah, those are called "Gambits". I just got access to them.

Basically, you can get pre-defined pieces of gambits. like, say you'll find (or aquire on the license board):

Ally:HP<50%

You can then set up your gambit on, say, Vaan to do

Ally:HP<50% -- Cure

so, whenever someone's HP goes below 50% Vaan will cast a cure. You can attack too.

Foe: Party leaders Target -- attack
Foe:HP100% - steal

the the first one, Vaan will attack whoever the party leader is targeting. Assuming Vaan isn't the leader.
the second one, Vaan would go to whatever Foe has 100% HP and steal.. etc, etc.

it's not fully automated though, you'll need to do some management here and there. I tried to do Foeartyleader target ---steal. and Vaan just tried to steal something, over and over and over.

also, the Gambits go in order

1--- Foe:HP100% - steal
2--- Ally:Vaan HP>50% - cure

the computer would "okay, gonna do #1, lets say there are no enemies with 100% HP, then it will go to #2, and then it will cure 'cause Vaan is under 50% hp, then it will go back to #1. lets say there's an enemy now with 100% HP, so now Vaan steals. Then, it starts over again at #1 and since there is no enemies with HP100% it'll go to #2, Vaan has full health, so it goes back to #1, or to #3. Does that make sense?

I did a steal one and my character just tried to steal, over and over and over. till they died, or someone else killed the enemy. you can turn off gambits at any time when you're play. via the party menu, or via the battle menu.

this link to a picture is of the gambit screen. http://image.com.com/gamespot/images..._screen017.jpg --if it doesn't work, just go to gamespot and look at the FFIX screens you'll see plenty there

oh yeah, Gamestop/EB are supposed to be getting in their Wii-kiosks (Wiiosk!) sometime soon. so keep an eye out. I'm not sure if they are playable though (wireless remote, ya know...) but it'll still be cool to check it out.

(yay, game thread! )
