Well I hit level 30 in Skyrim and realized I wasted talent points in crap I don't use that I only used to survive at the beginning. SOOOO I am going to start over and use one of these builds. Keep in mind the max level in game is 80.

Of Course I will play a Werewolf. That ability has helped me out so many times and when you are traveling to a new place it's just as fast if not faster than riding a horse lol.
Though Shadowmere from the dark brotherhood quests being a SMART horse that self heals with potions and fights for you is pretty damn sweet. Just be careful because unlike in Oblivion that horse can die this time around.

I call it the Ninja Build. All 79 points spent

Archery 16 points (Bows in this game are insanely good this time around and well worth the points to all of the perks in Archery)
One Handed 9 points = Armsman 5, Fighting stance, Bladesman 3
Smithing 6 points = Steel Smithing, Elven, Advanced Armors, Arcane Blacksmith, Glass Smithing, Dragon Smithing
Enchanting 10 points = Enchanter 5, Soul Squeezer, Soul Syphon, Insightful Enchanter, Corpus Enchanter, Extra Effect
Light Armor 10 points
Lock picking 11 points
Sneak 13 points
Restoration 4 points = Novice Resto, Regen, Apprentice Resto, Respite

Lock picking other than finding more gold, better items and breaking less lock picks is pretty useless because there are no restrictions in the game when it comes to picking locks.

Alternative Ninja build.

Sneak 13 points
Archery 16 points (Bows in this game are insanely good this time around and well worth the points)
Light Armor 10 points
One Handed 9 points = Armsman 5, Fighting Stance, Bladesman 3
Smithing 6 points = focuses on light armor and enhancements
Enchanting 10 points = Enchanter 5, Soul Squeezer, Soul Syphon, Insightful Enchanter, Corpus Enchanter, Extra Effect
Restoration 3 points = Novice Resto, Regen, Apprentice Resto
Speech 6 points = Haggling 1, Allure, Merchant, Investor, Fence and Master Trader.
Pickpocket 6 = Light Fingers 1, Night Thief, Cut Purse, Extra Pockets, Misdirection, Perfect Touch

In other words the first build is not a fully fledged thief but can pretty much kill anything I want effortlessly ninja style. I might lean towards changing my points around with the alt build above to be a better thief as well seeing as it's a bit more fun and the vendors in this game kind of suck when it comes to how much gold they have and what they can buy from you.

Right now I use most of the first set up but I have a few points spent in other crap I don't need anymore. That and certain weapons in the game don't scale as you level and only keep a set stat weight when you pick them up so I will be saving the quests to get them towards the end of my play through. Mehrune's Razor comes to mind (Deadric dagger that has an instant kill enchant that is chance on hit), the weapon is pretty damn awesome because other than how broken attacking in stealth is in the game it gives you that almost guaranteed one shot to some creatures that you might not one shot otherwise.

I played a sneak type character but thought it was too easy even on master. The AI would get fooled by sneak (at high skill) even if you approached from the front. If I sneak attack with daggers for the x30 bonus I would one shot most anything and if I didn't sneak I would get my ass pounded. I considered dropping the sneak attack gloves to go back to 15x but it didn't work (see ass pounding) going to 1handed instead of daggers still would one shot most anything. I stopped at about lv 32 I think.

Now I'm working on a spell sword, 1h shield and destruction magic, no sneak attacks allowed, no archery, no alchemy (only restoration), no +skill train guardian stones. ( I didn't like being lv 11 after the first 2 dungeons)....the game is much more entertaining, I had to put alot of points into health to survive on master but the battles have become much more epic. I can still mop up the trash fairly easily but the tougher enemies are actually a challenge. I have to save mana for healing so I can just blast the hell out of them and the sword and shield combat makes for a bit more thoughtful fighting instead of just swinging wildly trying to do the most damage (a la dual weapons and to a lesser extent 2 handed).

The game is far more enjoyable now.

Scratch the 3 points in bladesman and just put them in the two duel wielding perks. I am liking using two weapons. other than that i decided to use the second build in my post. After that im going to do a paladin build or pure warrior build. maybe a caster build later but my usual disposition to hating casters in video games makes it a bit difficult seeing as they are normally stupidly overpowered and dont get nerfed hard enough...World of Warcraft I blame you for this hatred.

I realized I spent my points pretty much all over the place too when I first started. I didn't want to be a 2h mage, so I put points into 2h wep thinking that was what I wanted. Well now I decided I want to be battle mage, 1h magic, 1h sword... I'm only level 16 and there ain't no way I'm starting over, I'm just gonna distribute better from now on. I applaud your dedication, I couldn't start all over now.

BTW any follower that can train you pretty much does it at no cost because you can take the gold back off them. You just have to have enough gold in your inventory to keep up with the price increase as you go and can only abuse this once per level.

Also after using a strap on my controller to hold the thumb stick and a perfect spot on a wall I let my character sneak walking into the wall to raise their sneak skill up for an hour and a half yesterday while I took a nap lol. Got it up to 44 lol.
Think I might do the same while I am at work and max it out for luls.

The tricky part being I can never level up or else the difficulty of the game would be way too disproportionate to my level due to the terrible equipement and lack of other abilities levelled up. Also there is one person that lets you train using their bow target that you can use infinitly as a mini game to level up Archery.

Currently though I did use ralof at the beginning to level my sword skill by beating on him just before you see the bear in the cave because he cant die and wont attack you so sneak and one handed sword are levelled well enough. I make people brawl me to level up my light armor skill. I look for any shortcut I can find now seeing as I can level much faster.

I am saving the end of all the major factions, deadric quests minus the star of azura and the story mode for last seeing as you get the best items from them and they are scaled to your level when you received them.

Also playing on max difficulty and getting two shot by guys swinging two handers sucks bad. I try to take them out from a distance or assassinate them instead.

I have two characters going currently.

Wood Elf w/Werewolf ability lv42. Most skills are in heavy armor, smithing, two handed (maxed at 100 already) bows, sneak, restoration and speech craft.

Second character I started the other day is a Khajiit, lv15. Single hand weapon, shield, light armor, restoration, sneaking, bow, lockpicking, thieft and speech craft.

I don't like destruction magic so much as followers/companions like to get in the way. I've cleared out caves and what not with a bow and dagger without getting spotted. hell of a lot of fun.

If you don't own a home, load followers with goods to hold onto and even when they leave your party, they keep the items you can retrieve later. for example Mjoll the Lioness is walking around Riftin in Ebony armor and a huge 2 handed glass battle axe on her back lol.

I accidently joined the imperials before becoming thane in every major town... Ullrich won't give me quests...

Yep That is why I am not joining the imperials or the stormcloaks until towards the end of my play through. Becoming a Thane in each major city is a goal. Never met a woodelf warrior in game before, they are usually thieves and rangers. Mainly because that is what they are typically geared towards racially.

Yes, if you don't count your followers. They're pretty intelligent.

I'm glad it's not MMPORPG. 12 year old little brats and Chinese spammers ruin it for everyone.

Saw the game in person last night at Sonny's place. I was informed that the same group who did the fallout series did this game….and now I am interested.

Looks like Luke will be getting a copy for Christmas.

It's incredibly addicting. I did a few quests last night, then spent literally two hours just leveling up my smithing, and organizing my loot around my house in Whiterun.

Ingredients in one cabinet, weapons in another, food in another...

LOL... here I thought tossing skulls at a shelf for 30 mins trying to get one to land upright was bad...

also spent about 2hrs smithing daggers to skill up blacksmith to lv60 so I can lv up enchanted weapons and armor.

Whew... I'm not the only one spending stupid amounts of time playing the game.

In the first week I logged 54 hours on my main character, who is a wood elf sneaky, lockpick, archer that one shots everything (no need for companions, they get in the way).

Got bored of that and now have a level 9 pure mage, if I don't have a 'tank' type character with him he dies incredibly fast to melee.

Haven't played much lately, but I want to get back into it.

Yeah my room mate created a mage and was clearing some lower level caves when he came across one with Draugr... lol he was all "NUKE! FIRE! ICE! ****!!!!! RUN AWAY RUN AWAYYYY!!!!!" man he got his lv 10 mage ass handed to him. I still think he's only killed one dragon. I'm on like 40+ dragons lol

On my archer (level 30) he has more dragon spirits than useful shouts. But damn is it annoying when it takes 20 arrows to kill a dragon. (I have archery maxed as far as my level will allow, its sitting at around 75 atm).

Yeah, if only you could sell dragon spirits LOL. Though I have yet to find all the shouts or unlock all three words to each shout. Its fun running into a room and shouting all three words to unrelenting force, watch everything sail across the room, rush the boss and cut the heck outta him before he can get up.

I like to break into houses at night and murder anybody that I happen to find sleeping and steal all their stuff. I swear, every town I come to, 15 minutes later I'm running backwards out of town as a band of guards try to come after me... And I love every minute of it.

I'm playing the run. I picked it up on black friday for only 30 bucks. It's pretty damn sweet. No circuit races in the campaign though. It's all sprinting to get you across the country. I've only played a few online races but those are good too except for everyone races super dirty but it's still enjoyable taking revenge when you get pitted into the wall or off the course. Very nice looking cars. Something I don't like is the lack of ability to upgrade your cars like in nfs underground. when you get farther into the game you just unlock higher tier cars rather than being able to upgrade the performance of your favorite.

I just beat codmw3 last night. The ending of that game was so epic. Capt. Price= Boss.
