My MacBook Pro I bought for school broke in a week =\
The touchpad went screwy and the motherboard fried.

No it is not a PC in the sense people are talking about. Try shopping on new egg for components that would go on a pc that uses windows and put them in a mac, it wont work. Apple has a monopoly on hardware upgrades for their product. You have to buy them from apple because the hardware for regular PCs is not compatable. The only component that are shared are the processor and sticks of Ram.

Also paul the quad core i7 processor was an option when i built my pc along with the ram quantity 3 years ago. Ram being something that has only had breakthroughs on how much ram they can fit on a stick so 8 gigs has been an option for longer than my pc is old. Your only limiting factor is space on your motherboard.

Kyle, sorry bout the bad purchase. Macs usually dont break like that.

There's a 2010 Mac Pro in an adjacent office that's been extensively upgraded to include two dual-head video cards. Nothing in it has been ordered from Apple.

Standard components are standard components. Old arguments are old.

Eh, it can be said about anything really, even my beloved WRX with it's wonky right turn signal.

But in short, I just brought it back to Best Buy and they gave me a brand new one. Haven't had troubles since.
It's definitely one of the best looking pieces of hardware I've owned short of the custom PC I built.

I actually prefer MacBooks (Pro's specifically) for school. They are lightweight, sleek, boot quickly between classes, and allow me to take notes the way I like to.

Though I will ALWAYS build my own gaming PC. Never buy a branded prebuilt POS when you wanna game hard ;D

Buy it once, mod the piss out of it after a few years for cheap, continue rocking on.
I run a 32" flat screen for my monitor and combine it with my sub and speakers.

I use a steel series keyboard and mouse. Next year around tax season i am taking that money to do my first overhaul to the desktop and buying all sorts of nice goodies. Just got to make sure it all fits, the tower I use is a bit limited in space with the damn liquid cooling system in it.

Who gives a crap, a computer is a computer. You guys can argue until you're blue in the face (or fingers in this case) and nobody is going to manage to change anyone else's mind. I am a cheap bastard, so I use PC's... I don't really care about Mac vs PC, and neither should you. In the end if it gets the job done, it's good. I love my iPhone and my iPod... but I also love my PC. oh well life goes on.

Nice, lv 11 I think before I lost my internet connection for a while this morning. Apparently even if you're playing single player you need to be online... is painful for me as I have a bad connection that goes up and down all day long.

That is a WGMG moment. No offline play.

Other than that I am at level 19. Loving how active the gameplay is vs the previous two titles. So many more options. Still uses the two mouse buttons for your attacks but the utility keys are a great addition and moving health to a singular hotkey is excellent.

Played with a friend from work through act 1 and did most of act 2 solo so far. Loving how fleshed out the classes are vs D2 with the crap load of talents and talent points you could easily waste.

update level 21 at the end of act 2. bout to hit 22.

I am half a level away from 60 at the end of ACT III Hell Difficulty. I will tell you this much, gearing in that game is simple, all that matters is getting high DPS items and stacking your primary stat.

d3 sucks, the game is basically a gear hunt and they nerfed the drop rates so hard that your more or less forced to use the auction house so the game becomes a gold hunt unless you want to use real money in which case its just stupid.

personally I prefer d2 still.....not sure why. The items were cooler, the skills were cooler, you felt generally more badass. The only thing I really like about d3 is the level design, champion/elite packs, and thats about it.

being able to swap your skills around kinda sucks because there was something cool about leveling up another character just to use different skills at the end. plus the gear in d3 is just very basic and kinda of bland, even the more rare gear still has the same stats, can't a brother get ctc? then there is the excessive use of cut-scenes and the limited resource pool size. I know the game isn't supposed to be d2 but i would have enjoyed it more had it been closer to it.

Anyone check out The Secret World? I'm not a big fan of Funcom after my dreams were shattered with Age of Conan but I am having a blast with The Secret World. Pretty open ended character building experience.

There is way too much to try and talk about it in text but if slaying zombies and beasties in a modern themed MMO with shotguns, assault rifles, swords, or several other weapons interests you, I'd go check it out.

Have any of the newer Need For Speed games compared at all to Most Wanted that had the 2004 STI? I've been wanting to get back into Need for Speed for a while on the console. I only have two of the games on my iPod Touch, but neither is exciting at all.

The only racing games I play are Ridge Racer 6 on the Xbox and Tokyo Extreme Racer for the Subarus.

I tried it. Combat was a little boring for my taste, the quests were cool but... just wasn't my thing. I'll wait for GW2.

Mmmm... GW2.

Now if they ever actually release the bloody game. I need something else to play than D3. All classes to 60, 2 have cleared inferno. And now I'm just bored with it.

Speaking if Guild Wars 2, I haven't played Guild Wars 1 in a long time (like a year or so ago) It was on an old PC that has been long since broken. Installed it on my new PC and surprise, all my stuff was still there. Which is cool cause I believe some of it can transfer to Guild Wars 2.

Been playing the firefall beta lately. Haven't played sc2 in so long but still watch GSL every now and then, tasteless and artosis are entertaining as hell.

Not sure if i can dive into gw2...

WoW, Aion, FFXI, and EQ before those have stolen enough of my life as it is, damn mmo's being so awesomely addictive. :P

I still have a wow account but haven't been playing it since last Dec.

D3 was fun for a few weeks.

Edit: i host a minecraft and terraria server from my office connection/hardware if anyone is interested in playing those
