Default Snow is here!

When I left my house this morning we had ~1" of snow and it was comming down hard. I live at the back end of the ER Valley, I heard south Anchorage is getting some this morning too? Almost time to put my snowtires on.

Drove through flakes on the way to work. It was enough I had to turn on my wipers.

Already got my snow tires on.

Yeah, there were some big flakes falling on my way to work this morning. Kinda nice, especially on a morning that no windshield scraping was involved.

I'm waiting as long as possible to get the winter tires on my car.

When I was driving in it was trying to snow around Potters Marsh. It wasn't sticking and it wasn't cold enough for the rain to form into a decent snow. 3-4 more degrees and it would have been decent snow.

I guess now would be a good time to start thinking about thinking of getting some snow tires. :0

Got to at least do some black ice testing this morning. The traction is unheard of. Never would have thought real snow tires would make that big a difference on this kind of car.

Yeah a couple inches tonight at least. I'm sure it'll be there in the morning for the morning commute . Blizzaks are fun, especially in thick snow and 50/50 lock . They are worth the investment.
