Default Dream Sheets for the Military

So it's come time to set up my dream sheet. I PCS next OCT...

I'm kinda wanting to go state side just to be closer to family.. more shops.. dynos etc... but Im going to miss COLA...

I was actually thinking about putting 3-4 state side bases and then one "over seas" base.. Elmo.

I really don't mind which place I go though.... so if I put elmo down on my dream sheet .... do you think that'd make that place my next base for sure? I was thinking since its so close to Eielson.. the airforce would save a lot of money by just PCSing me to Elmo...

What is your career field? Elmo is one of the hardest places to get PCS'd into, or so I've heard. I got lucky, its my first base.

most of the time.. from what i have heard/been told, you could put 20 state side bases on your dreamsheet and 1 overseas and you will probably end up overseas.....

In BMT, I only have 10 bases to choose from. I listed 6 stateside (everywhere except Idaho), and 2 overseas (everywhere but Alaska), and I ended up here. This next time, there were more openings at Eglin (Florida) than anywhere else, so I listed only Eglin on my dreamsheet. I got Seymour-Johnson (NC) instead. Dreamsheets don't mean jack. Oh, and by "bus driver" do you mean "Iraqi Convoy Driver"? My roommate is vehicle ops...doesn't sounds like a career field that I would want.

I dont even have 20 stateside locations I can go to! Its easy for my job to get to elmo tho, they need us here more then any other place. I want to go to Japan next, or maybe England(looks like it will be japan, lol)

Indeed... bus driver...iraqi convoy driver.. it's all the same right?

Pretty crappy career field.

Kinda like Sparky said. Good Luck.

I will highly recommend McChord AFB for the Suby scene. Within 1/2 a hour drive you have WorldOne, Solar Reflections, Axiom, Ill Tech Auto Salon, Pacific Import Auto, PDX Tuning, Fairlady Motors(UP Garage) and mess loads of other places.

There's always things going on. Rally, AutoX, Drags at Pacific Intl. Raceway and Portland. Hell, Subyfest in November is practically in my backyard.

Anyways, good luck. Doug

If you put overseas, your opening up all overseas assignment from what i heard. If you want to stick with lower 48 don't put any overseas assignments.

I'm not volunteering for any more overseas tours to ensure I get orders to the lower-48. If I get sent to England or Korea I'm gonna have an aneurysm. I've got Mt. Home (previous asignment and a laid-back small town), Nellis, Davis-Monthan, Seymore, and Tyndall.

As long as I'm not in AK anymore, I'll be happy. I already miss the sun.

In basic these were my choices
Beal AFB, CA
Edwards AFB, CA
Nellis AFB, NV
Davis Monthom, AZ
Mountain Home, ID
Shady Jady, NC
Pope, SC?
Tyndall, FL
Eglin, FL
i think that was it

overseas
Kadena, Elmo, Lakenheath, Spangdahlem

the 'dorf, shady jady, and MO were the only ones not on my "dream sheet"...ironically enough if i re-enlist I'll probably end up going to MO, or shady

If it's your First Term....Try to apply for a Base Of Preference. If your going ack to the lower 48 it's very possibletoget it approved.

You're still a first term airman until you re-enlist, wise guy.
