Default DR/Parking & Fog lights

OK, the way the WRX lights controls are setup sucks. I never use the parking light switch on the steering column, and I never use the parking-light position on the turn-signal end.

However, the fog light switch, which I do use, is way over on the left, and down so I have to hunt around to find the damn thing.

What I'd really like to do for light control is this:

Top-of-steering-wheel switch => fog lights
Fog light switch => parking lights
Turn-signal-end:
* All ligths off
* DRL (no tail lights)
* Low beams

Any hints/suggestions on how to go about making this happen?

Wow! You're talking about re-wiring the entire electrical system you know. I don't have the wiring diagrams myself, or I'd help ya out. Mabye somone here has the offical service manuals and could tell you.

The only issue I'd see with that is having to reach around the stereing wheel to get to the fog light switch. other than that it should be easy. here's a suggestion... instead of rewiring everything behind the dash, do it in the relay box. at least for switching the fog and driving lights this would be easy. go to the low-current side of the parking and fog light relays and cross-jumper them. it should be easy. be sure to break the old circuits, or you'll have both go on at once every time you throw the switch. I don't have a WRX, so I don't know exactly how these lights behave, but this setup should work just fine.

I think the layout is fine. If it were me (a lazy bastage), I'd take the time to get used to it!
