Default Can someone write up their install?

Im not quite sure how to begin this project, ive never dealt with anything like this. I have heard it is similar to nitrous, but hey...ive never had nitrous! hah, so basically im lookin for a small write up so i can do it myself along with a knowledgable friend...i dont want him screwin it up. i just like to do all my mods myself, that way i know they are done correctly...or incorrectly hah!

I'm going to do a write up with clear pictures and clear language as soon as I'm done with my install. The documentation and instructions I've found have been mostly poorly written, confusing, contradictory or irrelevant.

I'm installing mine in about a week, so if there's no write up I'll post some instructions with pics. It'll be using the Coolingmist stage 1 plus some extras.

In the meantime, check out the forums on http://www.alcohol-injection.com

There are a few links to installations on SRTs and a few other cars. Same general idea.

This is a good overview:

If you follow the instructions there is really no need to write it up. The first thing you must decide on is where to mount your tank so that there is a place to run your pump where the pump suction side is lower than the tank outlet side.
Once you have that figured out, get lots of wire and connectors and everything else is simple.

I installed the CoolingMist pump along side my stock STi IC spray tank in the trunk. I ran my wires and tube up through the upper right (looking into it - passenger side) of the trunk. If you stick your head in the trunk and look up along the top of the wheel well on the passenger side, you will see a foam-filled hole with a wire or something stock running through it. I can't remember exactly what ran through it. I simply pushed the WI tube through and then pulled from inside the car. You will have to remove the back seat (5 bolts - EZ), and pull up the sill plates and loosen the carpet just along the edge. You will see a channel with wires and such running through it. You can run the wire and tube in this channel. When you get to the front of the car, I ran the tube around the upper part of the footwell, above the ECU, where it will not get trod upon under the carpet. Run it under the heat duct to get it from the passenger to drivers side (still inside the cabin), and then run it through the grommet above the clutch pedal. I installed my check valve and clogged nozzle detector on the drivers side of the engine, just in front of the intercooler, kind of down by the fuel rail, out of sight almost completely. Then the nozzle is mounted in the underside of the intercooler outlet (from of the car). I mounted my controller inside the cabin, in the little coin tray in front of the ash tray. I cut a piece of black foam from the inside of the box that the system was shipped in. It is black, closed-cell foam about an inch think. I cut it to fit the tray with a pair of heavy duty scissors. I simply pokes a couple zip ties through it and through the mounting holes of the controller to hold it tightly to the foam. I was going to use double sided tape to mount the foam to the tray, but after the wires and vacuum hose are installed, it sits there just fine, and is secure enough to pass a jillion tech inspections.

It is really quite easy. I installed mine in a full day, but I REALLY took my time, double-triple-quadruple checked everything, and went really, really slow. I could do it again in a couple-three hours. The most difficult thing is getting the intercooler back onto the inlet pipe. If you get the CoolingMist kit, I suggest ordering a few extra feet of hose. Although I finally got mine to work with the amount sent, I had to install the check valve and clogged nozzle detector where the coil of line ended, and then use the extra from the pump mount to complete cover the short distance to the nozzle. It turned out quite well, but it would have been less stressful to have a bit of extra hose.
