Default mystery oil leak

i have an 02 wrx and im loosing about 500ml of oil every 3 days. none on bottom of engine, car doesnt smoke, the only oil i see is a small amount of oil residue on the charge pipe coming from the turbo and on the bottom of the turbo, but it looks old and crusty. any ideas?

You're going thru a quart of oil a week?

...what kind of mileage & speeds are you typically running?

I recently installed uppipe, downpipe and headers and brought it in to get serviced and protuned. My tuner found an oil leak, which i thought was from the filter but turned out to be my main valve cover gaskets and seals. They were replaced for around $200. My car had about 72k miles and is also an '02.

i never did solve this problem, i took it to subaru today, and they said there was a TINY leak from the valve cover gaskets, but not big enough to loosea qt a week. they suggested that the engine may be burning oil, however, there is no oil smell in the exhaust, and there is no smoke. i get a small amount of black smoke from the rich fuel mixture when i floor it but thats it.

Is it possable to loose a quart a week out of the exhaust without seeing smoke? i only have the factory uppipe, and i replaced the DP with a HKS. the cats looked very cleam and white, no residue in them.
