Default Multiple tire setup on an 8" and 8.5" wheel on an STI

so, i have this 06 STI ... and i've been playing w/ different tire setups.

i actually have the following setup:

(stock setup)

18 x 8, e48 w/ 235/40/18 S03 w/ swift springs

18 x 8.5, e48 w/ 255/40/18 rt615 w/ swift springs

18 x 8.5, e48 w/ 245/40/18 (yet to drive on)

wondering any other folks out there w/ a similar setup... @least a setup from a 235 to a 255 tire setup as above...

i really like the stance, however, on my 40 min. commute home everyday i go through this freeway we have here that is not in the best condition (specially in california standards)... 680 between pleasanton and fremont for the local peeps... the car seemed to take a longer time for the car to settle when i hit a bump @ high speeds... when i went from the 235 to a 255... same setup... i changed the camber and the wheels/tire since i've made the change.

i guess w/ more tire, the ride does feel pretty smooth... though i can already tell that my Gas milage is getting killed... not so much from the drag of the tire... but the fact that i'm hanging every possible corner

current stance as she sits outside...

just trying to compare notes.

Have you taken any hard corners with (18 x 8.5, e48 w/ 255/40/18 rt615 w/ swift springs) that setup? Any rubbing in the rear?

i feel that 255/40/18 is too tall on a Subaru, even on an Evo. if u want a taller sidewall i'd stick with 245/40/18 or 265/35/18. i have 235/40/18 Azenis on my WRX with stance coilovers and i work in downtown san francisco. its really not that bad. it also depends on ur suspension setup. if u have springs on stock struts its gonna be a little bouncier than coilovers.

Here's a silly question...

What do you think would happen if you put 275/35/18s on the 18x8.5's?

I've essentially got that setup coming, but on a et45
