Welcome.

Id recomend stock. It's really foolproof and supports power for a while.
Thou Ive only lived the dream for a year and a half now. Others will have more to offer on the subject of usefull modding.

The stock intake can support well over 300whp. If you really want an intake Cobb makes a really nice short ram intake. Also the SPT intake is nice and there is one forsale in the classifieds at the top of the page.

The stocker is the way to go. i remember when i bought a wrx, that was the first thing i wanted to do. but after learning from the experience on this board, keep it stock. throw a k&n drop in filter in there. youre all set. Might find your self a Cobb Accesport, and turbo back exhaust. Its a common first mod for sti's

Oh, and welcome. I wish i could buy an Sti

welcome and congrats on the sti. As everyone has already said, don't bother with an intake. Save you money and get an accessport from www.cobbtuning.com
imo this is the best first mod, then get a downpipe so you can go to stage 2

an intake is about the worst thing you can do for a first mod. congrats on the new car though, is it the silver one we put studs on today?

that the one that was sitting in the show room? about time it sold. I hated walking past it and not being able to buy it

Congrats on the new car.

Stay away from intakes or BOV that are not stock. They do more harm then good.

If you ever need anything in service you can hit me up at 261-0602. I'm one of the service advisors.

Yep, I remember that car here at Conti. Do you wanna sell me your stock tires cheap? I need some autocross rubber. I know it's winter an all, but just thinking ahead.

I'm also a Subaru service advisor. My direct is 261-0633.

We sat in it Saturday. I need to find some STi seats sometime, to replace mine with the horrible headrest.

Enjoy the car, it's nice!

you vulture! whats he gonna use in the summer time? What if he happens to wanna autocross?

I think jaylyons tires are in the back still... not much rubber on them though but you might get a season out of em.

thanks for all of your help I do need some service help I will give you guys a call. I am not selling the stock tires sorry, I have wheels coming for them and I am going to mount them on the new wheels. I was actually going to buy studded tires some where else but the sales dept. would not let me take the car unless I bought studs from the dealership they said it was aginst the law to drive with those tires in the winter is that true just wondering,

um no it's not against the law. who told you that if you don't mind me asking?

jerry

on a side note the dealer does have a policy of not letting sti's go when it's slick without studs on them, but it's more of a buyer protection thing, kinda like the jetski salesman that makes you buy a life vest.

yeah with those stock tires you might have made it 20' before you lost it into some thing on these roads the way they are right now, ask any of the guys that already tried that , it makes for some pretty hairy driving

I'm the one who is handling getting your wheels ordered for you. And I'll be calling you when they arrive.

Kinda funny, the last four posters including this one all work at Conti
