Question What are you guys running for winter

I have seen a thousand posts on this subject but was looking to hear what people in my area are running for a winter tire and wheel set up?

Feed back is greatly appreciated

Stock wheels, Good Year Ultra Grip Ice. Its a good tire for snow and ice, yet it still handles well in the dry weather.

Same here. They aren't great on wet/dry pavement.. but they aren't performance tires either. In the snow they are awesome.

I was thinking of either the Blizzak WS-50 ($126 USD/Tire) or the Dunlop Graspics ($106USD/Tire)

Anyone have any experience with either of those?

.....yes,with the WS-50.A superb tire and I wouldn't bother looking any further to make a long story short.Great tire and if you cannot find the appropriate size in the Blizzak WS-50 try the Blizzak Revo 1.

cheers man,

DD

Me too!

They are excellent in most conditions. Snow, ice, dry. H-rated too! I think they might be quieter on the highway than my Ziex 512's in summer!

blizzaks are good. i've run arctic alpins (extinct?) and toyo's with the walnuts...i want to get the pilot alpins.

considering the majority of MY driving is dry pavement and -20...snow/ice isn't all that important.

I have the Toyo Garit HT's with the walnut shells. They stick like glue to ice and are pretty good in snow, but are a bit squishy on dry pavement.

I use the ws-50's on my 06 sti. I find them to be very good on ice. They are also wearing very evenly. I really like them

16" Sumitomo studded. They seemed good the 1 day I've needed them in this wet Montreal winter!
