Default Quick Swap Center Guage Pod?

A while ago, there was a message on one of the gauge threads (yes I did a search) on a member who was able to wire the center gauge pod to be modular (i.e., it could be taken off and replaced with the OEM clock quickly).

Anyone out there recall, book marked or originated that message? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

god -

Thanks for the reply. But it was more a an electrical solution that I was looking for. A member indicated that they wired up their center guage pod so that they had "connectors" to their gauge wiring so that you could pull the pod, snap the connectors apart, and replace the clock pod back within like five minutes... quick release. Kinda like the power connectors INSIDE computers.

Heard of anything like that?

Default forcefed

I think you are talking about the article that forcefed wrote a while back. he has it wired so taht all the gauge power wires and such use the stock clock connector so that when you swap the clock in it uses the oem connector. no weird adaptations.

do a search on forcefed i think thats his club name

Actually again, I don't get it. the Defi control unit stays where it is and for the gauge you can unplug one wire clip and just put in the clock again. Again, takes 5 seconds.

Shaolin -

Thanks a lot for the lead. Found what I was looking for.

God -

The way that Force[FED] had his center mount gauge pod setup was that he combined all of the wiring for all three guages on his pod to a single connector that could be hooked up to the connector that powers the OEM clock. My expectation is that this would provide a quick AND clean approach to powering the gauges.
