Default 205/50/17 winter tires on stock 05 STi 17x8 rims

what do you guys think? too narrow?
Right now I am running 245/40/17 tires that fit fine on the rims with my whiteline coilovers.

cheers

Nick

I *think* they may be to narrow to fit on the wheel properly. Otherwise, 205 is fine for the car and for winter

I'm running michelin pilot alpins in the stock 225/45/17 size on 17x8 this year. Last winter I ran 215/45/17 on a 17x7.

215 on a 8 inch wheel is pushing it, 205 is just too narrow. Just run the stock size, it is readily available in a number of different tires.

Good choice! You'll have more grip in the dry with the wider tire. what tir did you go with?

I ran 205 50 17 on 17 x 7.5 Rotas and the guy at Town Fair said I was pushing it.

Every manufacturer has the tire fitment specs on their website. Go there and find out what the people who actually make the tires have to say - there's no need to be asking the question here.
