odd question about cams...

I didn't find any relevant info.

Are the left head cams and the right head cams the same and interchangeable on a 99-01 NA EJ25?

Any help would be great. thx

Left hand cams must go in left hand heads and the same goes for the right side.

I'm afraid I don't have a definite answer for you, but when I did my cam swap, I could not tell the difference between the two cams. No obvious marks or anything. And the lobes seemd to match exactly. Thankfully, I decided to mark them L/R myself, so I put them together the same way they came out. P.S. This was on a Phase-2 SOHC. I know this doesn't help at all.. uh.. actually, I guess all I did was fan the flame didn't I?

I've never actually looked at them side by side. I always assumed that the lobes would be pretty much be a mirror image type thing. Now Skidd has me wondering.

I've got a couple sets at home I'll check out.

I've got a driver-side head I was going to dismantle this evening to see if it's the same or not, but if you've got a set that you can compare that'd be a big help.

ones is 3 inches longer than the other becuase of the offset of the heads.
