Cause your stupid hybrid isnt going to haul those spikes and armor plating

mad max one was a couple years in the furture...not like 50 100 200 or anything like that....lots of stuff in the trilogy point to stuff that set the films around the time the actual moobies were released

Because they cost a lot more than normal cars. You could easily buy a normal civic, rice it out, and pay for the extra gas cost and have money left over.

Unless; however, there are other financial benefits to a hybrid other than gas-cost savings.

Yea. As Mad Max was made in 1979, the 'future' is probably around 1983 in the movie.

Wrong. Mad Max was set in the not too distant future, but the Road Warrior was set in the future after some sort of apocalypse

So how long after Road Warrior was Thunderdome supposedly set? mUst have been a while, as his hair was a lot longer. And skirts on dudes was seemingly in fashion...
