Default Climate control computer dead, blamed my navigation?

Here's the scoop:

My heat in my car stopped working a couple days ago. I bring it over to Subaru today and they say they'll check it out but it more than likely sounds electrical. I get a call back around 5:00:

"Who installed your navigation unit?"
"I did, why?"
"Well, there is a ton of non-subaru wiring in the car and your climate controls are blown out. It's a rather pricey part around 650$"

....Wow. Now, when I installed the navigation, the only thing I tapped into was a speed sense wire behind my cluster, and I don't possibly see how that could've caused that. I work at circuit city, so I'm going to bring the car in to one of the guys who has an STi and knows his **** to see if he can possibly find something. I honestly don't see how that could've caused my climate control cpu to fry. He started saying there may be harnesses fried and all this other bull****.

Any ideas? What should I do?

well when your mucking around behind your dash... it leaves you open for something like this. Same with auto starts. But anyway. I would doubt your nav system effected your climate stuff unless you actually hacked into it.

it is more the fact that the you were working close to something that isbroken... they have to prove that the malfunction was directly caused by your mods.

Do the GPS satellites transmit power to your navigation unit?

no heat after tampering behind the dash, what could it be?

you know the saying: if it has feathers and quacks like a duck, you don't need dna testing to know it's a duck.
