For the money the dealers will be asking for it, I'd rather buy an Evo or STI

30k for a Impreza? What is the point?

See how it feels? People are into different types of cars, stop hating just because Honda wants to sell a upgraded version of the Civic.

I dont see the point for a 30k impreza. Thats why I will never buy a new car....
I didnt pay half that for mine.

Buy your car cheap, mod it the way you want it. Buying a cookie cutter expensive econo car defeats the purpose.

30K civic = 20K civic + wheels, suspension and body kit

35K impreza = 25K impreza + wheels, suspension, body kit, big brakes, 6 speed transmission, Active center diff, front LSD, upgraded rear LSD, larger turbo, reworked head, better exhaust and HID headlights.

Seems like your 10K gets you alot more when you spend it with subaru.
I love the new civic Si, but that mugen package is a rip off.

Hondas are very nice cars..imo...I have one and enjoy it more on a daily basis than my Subaru...yeah its a Honda but its fast, yeah its fwd but its fast, yeah its an H-Badge but Honda quality is bar none...subarus are very nice cars as well, I lover both my Suby and my Honda but am just fond of my 240 (it hasn't gotten the royal treatment yet)

If they put Brembos on it I would be sold...oh and white...with HID's

Well said. I'll even add it's easy to get an STI for well under 35K.

Sharp looking Civic though.

Why did they choose to make the special-edition model a four-door? The coupe has better lines in the rear--this just looks like a rental car with a big wing on the back.

i actually kinda like it.. my roots are with hondas

any word on the power? who makes the wheels? i see the interior has the classic 'type r' red stitching.. and the rear end kinda reminds me of the TL.. with a bigger wing..

eh just answered my own question...

Most of the MUGEN changes are provided for handling improvements and visual enhancement, which means the 197-horsepower, 2.0-liter i-VTEC four-banger from the base Si was left untouched. The six-speed manual transmission has also been carried over. What's new is a unique cat-back exhaust system that lessens back pressure and, subsequently, improves the engine's power curve. Under the skin is a track-tuned suspension system with sport-tuned shocks and springs, aimed at providing exceptional handling balanced with a comfortable everyday ride.

Honda should have gotten their act together about 5 to 6 years ago when the FWD market and Honda itself was still in the limelight. Those times are long gone for me as well as thousands of other serious enthusiasts who are spoiled with AWD turbo.

Too little, too late Honda.

IDK about that, the dealers can barley hold on to these cars (current civic Si coupe). The demand for these cars is pretty high.

Get off your high horse. The FWD market is still going strong. Especially with upcoming cars like the SI and the new Mazdaspeed 3.

Never said demand wasn't high. I just believe Honda dropped the ball on retaining it's customers who helped propel them to the forefront of the sport compact car scene in the '90s. I have owned 6 Hondas in the past 13 years.

I like my horses high- it gives me a clear view on where I'm heading- and who's behind me.

Just as I stated in my above post, I, like many others who have owned Type Rs and Civic Sis in the past, have moved on. It would have been nice if Honda used Acura as an outlet for some sick performance cars- that just hasn't been the case(excluding the NSX).

Yeah, I'm SURE someone who wants true sports car performance is going to buy an RDX.

I don't want to agree with the asshats talkin crap, but honestly Civic Si for 30k is rediulous unless it hits 60 in under 5 seconds. FWD = ew my opinion pretty sure other people will enjoy it though. Knowing Honda I don't think they would put that thing up for sale at 30k.... but hell u guys say they are they must be.... Poor move on their part, but ima look more into this Mugen Si, check out some specs n stuff to get more knowledge then come back and stand by my word.

EDIT: God damn that is sucha high price for nothing special at all... personally i think its one ugly peice of machinery. haha. Looks like a snow plower in front, and the STi style wing is kinda odd looking on it... the body is just so boring, no curves at all.

1) The Civic coupe is not available in the japanese market
2) MTEC/Mugen does aftermarket stuffs for JDM vehicles

I am kinda surprised Honda decided to bring this out, they could have brought out the US market only Civic coupe Type-R in its place.
